The property was clean and the staff was friendly, however, the pool was closed, the toilet was running continuously, the bathroom door didn't latch and there was no one at the front desk when we arrived. All in all, pretty typical for Big Spring.

Problematic Stay at La Quinta Big Spring TX

Checking in informed no elevator working and on 3rd floor. One entrance on N side of property was unsecured. The door would not close. Freindly and helful staff trying to overcome facility shortfalls. Breakfast was not uo to par with similar hotels. Very few options and those were marginal.

Clean and Comfortable

The night clerk was very helpful. Came to our room to help with the TV. The hotel and the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast had choices, such as round shaped eggs and sausage and waffles and cereal, and it was sufficient, but not as many options as we have had elsewhere. Good hot tea selection. Only one luggage cart that we saw, but it was available when we needed it. Comfortable bed and pillows and good basic amenities.

Horrible experience.

Where to start, the elevator was out of order (I had an autistic adult with us) and no rooms where available on the first floor. We had quite a lot of equipment that needed to be brought to the room, plus luggage for 4 adults. Park on the back and the back door was non operational, had to be open from the inside. So as our reservation, after filling all the pre-check in with card info, car info and drivers license info to expedite the check in, had to do it all over again. Everyone checking in was upset. Then to the room, we asked for room for 5 adults, I assumed 2 beds and a sleeper, well no, one bed and a sleeper. Then the manager on staff explained to me how a king size bed accommodates 3 and the couch 2 people. Where is this all right? So I have to share my bed with my wife and another adult? Who does that? well I assume not a lot here in USA. The refused to accommodate, offer to provide another portable bed, which they could not find and that was the end. Had to travel 25 miles east to get another hotel. It was horrible and I will refrain from staying there. By the way, not at anytime I was offer, credit, another room or refund. I will see if Hotels.com make it right since it was not my fault.

The property was no it well maintained and nothing like the website photos. The elevator was brocken so had to climb stairs to get to the 4th floor room they put me in. I asked if they had any other rooms available and they said no becuase of late check outs the other rooms were not cleaned yet . So I asked could they call me when a room on a lower floor was ready and was told they could not do that it was against company policy. Then when I wanted to go sit by the pool there were no cochairs to sit in in the pool area. I get to my room and it is not the cleanest. Not a food experience at all. To to mention when I had to call for help for the tv that come to find out needed to be reset The desk clerk Vin has the worst body oder and so had to spray perfume to get the oder out of the room. i will never stay at this hotel again. Not a happy camper. They even refused to compensate me in some way foe the troubles I had with them.

Several Issues

When we arrived the clerk would not check us in.Even though we live at the same address and we have the same last name! We were forced to use stairs to our 2nd floor room due to the elevator not working. Also, no waffles due to a breaker not working at breakfast. Also completely out of gravy for the biscuits and gravy at 8:30 am. I think the construction or oil workers ate all of it. so there should be more than 1 container of gravy. We do not plan to be back.
