I wanted to leave balanced feedback after my recent stay. The high ratings you see online are largely driven by the fantastic entertainment and food the riad provides — and to be clear, the dining experience really is excellent. The ambience, live music and overall atmosphere in the evenings were standout.
However, as far as staying at the riad, it was unfortunately quite noisy. The layout means sound travels easily, and the kitchen staff, who I appreciate have their jobs to do, were clattering and working until the early hours of the morning despite staff informing us that they stop any noise by 11pm…This made it very difficult to get consistent sleep throughout the stay.
On the positive side, the staff were genuinely wonderful, especially the front-of-house team. They were warm, professional and could not do enough to help. Their service really was the highlight on the accommodation side.
Overall, Riad Monceau excels in food, entertainment and hospitality, but if you’re a light sleeper or looking for a more peaceful night’s rest, it may not be the most suitable option.
