Host was very accommodating. Hot tub was perfect for soothing sore bones after riding motorcycles all day.The fire pit next to the babbling brook was a great place to relax with friends. The house was spotless and the large leather furniture was comfortable. Would definitely come back.

Family getaway

The property and accommodations were better than expected. The home was beautiful, clean with all the amenities needed. It sits on a flowing river surrounded by wildlife. Every day we would see an abundance of deer and birds. My boys loved the pool table and played every night. They also enjoyed riding bikes and playing ping pong. There a several spots along the river you can fish, Hosts were quick to respond with any questions and checked on us to make sure we didn’t need anything. If we are in the area again will definitely try and stay here if available.

The location is perfect, the home is charming and all the extras like the hot tub and out building and fire pit add to the magic. The host was wonderful and I would recommend this place to everyone. Absolutely beautiful!

Home away from home

Our stay at the River House was everything we hoped it would be for our Thanksgiving visit. It’s a tranquil setting along the river and plenty of amenities for the kids and adults. Sharon and Bob are consummate hosts. We hope to stay again on our return visit.

Fantastic Spot

House was in the country but less than 15 mins from restaurants and shops. The host was quick to respond to questions and had little touches around the house to make our stay easier (I.e. fire starters and lighters for the outdoor fire pit, stuff for s’mores in the fridge, etc.). The kids enjoyed fishing in the creek, relaxing in the hot tub, and playing pool. I definitely recommend this spot.

Wonderful weekend getaway!

The property was exactly as was described: beautiful location, comfortable. Communication with the owners was very fast & super helpful. The owners take great pride in their home & have gone above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. The home was very clean & well taken care of. We really appreciated the small touches that were supplied by the owners like ample paper products, trash bags, s’more fixings & even shampoo & soap in the event you forgot to bring some with you!😀

Back of the Dragon

Rode the Back of the Dragon, and paddled at Hungry Mother. Had a great time visiting Marion and Tazewell. The property was lovely and quiet. Very enjoyable. Our host went above and beyond when we had a bit of car trouble too.

Mini-vac

This house and property were great! It was in a good location, was easy to find, and was very peaceful and quiet. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We are all over 70, one is 83, so we were not looking to do much other than just be together and relax. We just wanted to get out of town for a couple of nights. Would recommend it to others. M.B.

Fabulous family time!

We spent each morning sipping coffee in the Adirondack chairs by the river. One day we set up our easels along the river and painted. The fire pit was another favorite of ours! We had a wonderful time!

Beautiful River View!

The river and amenities were amazing. Firewood and supplies for s'mores, pingpong in the barn, pool table in the basement. An absolutely beautiful property. Lots of different areas to sit outside, both covered and uncovered. Very comfortable outdoor furniture. The host was amazing - helped us with some questions we had about the area. A great place to stay!

Paradise!

Such a tranquil setting. Doing the VA Creeper trail by bike was a bucket list item. Invited my hubby and another couple friend. Great little oasis in the mountains. Probably one of the top three VRBOs I ever stayed in. Super clean! Hot tub was immaculate! Babbling brook off the house, plenty of seating. Pool table, ping pong. Truthfully except for doing the bike ride we never left. Great beds, small kitchen but a grill on the back deck. No dishwasher. Plenty of paper products which is super nice. Also stuff like trash bags and paper towels. Sharon really goes out of her way. Highly recommend! We had a blast!

Beautiful

Everything about our stay was great. The house sits beautifully right on the river overlooking a pasture with cows across the river. The house was the most fully equipped of any house we’ve stayed in. Everything you need was there and the host even had supplies to make s’mores over the fire. They even provided the starter and wood for the fire. The house was clean and comfortable. The Wi-Fi was good but the cell service was spotty but that was fine with us so we could disconnect. I would gladly stay here again.

Wonderful Anniversary Trip

The River House is cozy & clean. The furniture is lovely & comfortable. The host has added a lot of personal touches in both decor & functionality. It was such a pleasant place, we only left the property to dine in town once. One of the best vrbo sites we've stayed at. We highly recommend a visit here.

The River House exceeded our expectations!

Our stay at the River House was more than we could have asked for. It was quiet, cozy, clean, and had all the amenities needed to provide respite during the Thanksgiving holiday. Beautiful Birthday getaway

My husband and I stayed at this home with another couple for my friend’s birthday. The location on the river was absolutely gorgeous! We really enjoyed the hot tub and sitting in the Adirondack chairs by the river. The home is beautifully decorated, and so cozy! We didn’t realize that the bathrooms were not attached to the bedrooms, but it didn’t really matter since the hostess provides big fluffy bathrobes. The kitchen is small but sufficient and even has an Alexa for listening to your favorite tunes. The hostess has really thought of every detail to make your stay comfortable and convenient. Highly recommend!

Amazing set away

If you are looking for a quiet get away- this is it! The views are breath taking and the hostess is just incredible. You feel like you are home the second you walk in the door. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars and not 5 is that the beds are very firm. If you like a firm bed- there is nothing that should stop you from escaping to this oasis in the mountains!
