The host made certain that anything we could possibly need was provided at this rental. I also loved all of the cute little creative touches throughout the cottage. The only drawback was that this gem isn't within the gates of Lakeside.

A nice little apartment for two. Great kitchen with up-to-date appliances, and plenty of condiments, spices, etc. plus a water filter pitcher in the fridge. Simple dining room with books, games, and an inkjet printer. Living room TV requires a little skill to operate, but streaming services were available as advertised. Bathroom has large walk-in shower and is well ventilated, plus all kinds of toiletries if you forget sonething. Bed is higher than "normal," but very comfortable. Big washer (read the directions) and dryer. Met the owner -- very nice. We'd happily stay here again. But, if you're going to Lakeside, note that this is outside, and there's a fence, so you're in for a mile hike to get to the "downtown" ... and the tram does not go to the east gate.

Bird’s Nest Stay

Great place to stay when visiting the area! Very convenient to everything! We so enjoyed the homey atmosphere of the place and boy, it was stocked with anything you might need. Paul is a super host.

Girls weekend

Our trip was from Sept 20th-22nd. The kitchen was stocked and we appreciated that we could have whatever we wanted. It was very comfortable and had games and other activities to do. Enjoyed the shops and boutiques in the little town of Marblehead and loved the wineries plus we were given an extra hour to pack up and leave!!!!

Water Wonderland Retreat

We had a fantastic 3 days at the Bird’s Nest in the first floor space, which was well-equipped, clean, cozy, and perfectly situated for easy access to the islands, Sandusky, and all the lovely new and old sights and eateries in Lakeside, Marblehead, and Catawba. Paul is an attentive host, always prompt with messaging to see if check-in went smoothly and help us with the thermostat. We’re anxious to return to this Water Wonderland retreat!

The kitchen supplies were amazing! Nice to find games to play with the grandchildren. Easy drives to local areas of interest. Uneven stone steps a little tough on an 80 year old.

Nice House

This place was great. It had everything you could've needed and more. Location was great less than a mile from Kelleys Island Ferry and only a 15 minute drive to the Put-In-Bay Ferry. Place has two units so you can hear other people's movings at times. Very nice outdoor space and kitchen was loaded up. Would def stay again.

Not just another rental

Wonderful place, very welcoming and well appointed. Felt like home. I was solo, but it would be perfect also for a couple + child. Owners were very responsive and on top of all communication. Looking forward to staying here again next summer!

Perfect spot for a lake visit!

My husband and I stayed at Lakeside 1 for 3 nights for a short getaway and it was perfect! The owner thought of everything for the accommodations -- clean, cozy, and well-stocked with whatever we needed. I wish I would have had one more day to spend reading on the benches on the front porch. Close to ferries to Kelley's Island (Loved it!) and Put-in-Bay (Loved it until around 6 p.m. when the vibe changed). We also enjoyed all the local restaurants and shops in Marblehead. Thanks for great accommodations and great communication, Paul! We hope to be back -- and hopefully bring friends!

Accommodating, Thoughtful, and Easy

This property and the one above it were perfect for me and my groomsmen the night before my wedding. We rented both places out and had planety of space to sleep and hang out. The host was accommodating when we needed a late check out, and even provided some refreshments and a little gift after they found out it was for my wedding. There is laundry on site, plenty of sheets, towels, and blankets, and the bathroom is massive. The bar space outside is nice, even though we couldn't use it much since we rented in October. I'd highly recommend this property and any other place that this owner has. You will not be disappointed.

Adorable Cottage and Wonderful Hosts

Booking was a breeze, photos didn’t do the property justice - it was even better in person. And the hosts were very communicative and proactively reached out to make sure we arrived safely. The attention to detail was amazing. My only complaint is the upstairs noise from the unit above. There was a rather large group staying there and you can hear through the vents and the floors everything. Thankfully they didn’t stay up late, but something to note. Overall would recommend this cottage! Great location and great hosts.

We Loved the Bird's Nest

We enjoyed this property over a long weekend. It is close to the Marblehead downtown area and ferries to both Kelly's Island and Put-In Bay. The house is well-stocked and the outdoor patio and firepit area were favorite morning and evening spots for us to enjoy. Paul was quick to respond to any questions we had. Thank you for having a wonderful home!
