Our first room was not up to standard, everything was sub-par. Our concerns were brought to the reception desk and they offered alternate accomodation, which also were worse than the first. On our return after second days activities, the manager offered another alternate accommodation which was different from the original room set up. This appeared to be newer and was definitely better than the first, so we swapped for our remaining stay

Update: shortly after leaving Big Meadows Lodge, my wife exhibited numerous bite marks on her neck, back and earlobe which is attributed to bed bugs. The First room we stayed in should be checked and the necessary remedial steps taken.
