Clean, basic and great value.

The motel had been updated, and is basic but cute. It was very clean and the price was great. The staff we ran into were friendly. This is a very basic, older place. It was quiet, and clean. The office had coffee in the morning. It wasn't open all the time, but check in and out was easy.

Cute little motel in Ludington. Older, but very clean and comfortable. Check in was super easy and front desk lady was very friendly. Definitely will stay again!

The walls are a bit thin and I could hear the people in the rooms next to me. Parking was tricky since the parking lines were not clearly marked. I was not able to park in front of my room.

Back to my childhood

This motel is a step back in time. Very clean very quiet. There was coffee in the room. Other than that no amenities. However we got clean towels every day. I would stay there again honestly because it reminded me of all the motels my family stayed in during summer vacations back in the 1960s. If you book here, just remember, there’s no pool and basically no TV. It does have Wi-Fi, which is free. When I say no TV, I mean no channels that you recognize.

The lady who worked there was very nice. And helpful. But for what we paid. Should have had a better breakfast than just muffins. Said there was coffee. Couldn't find any coffee. Over all very poor breakfast.

It was a reasonably priced place to stay in a very high priced location. Although there is typical motel vibes, it was clean, the staff was nice and the property was well maintained. The only downfall was a ridiculously loud ac unit. We couldn’t run it at night because it would disrupt our sleep even with ear plugs. Also, we left before the office was open, the return key drop has no lock on it so anyone could walk up and grab your keys and make themselves at home. There was about 4 other rooms keys in there when I added ours.

The rooms need to be updated. The Hvac system fan was either all on or all off with the only control being temp. It was noisy! There was too much furniture for the size of the room, and there was a medium sized refrigerator, but no microwave in the room. The only microwave is a very small one in room with the ice machine. The bathroom is very small. The TV channel listing doesn't match what is actually on thr channels. The only "breakfast" for everyone are prewrapped small muffins and cups of yogurt..

We did a last minute short trip to Ludington before starting school but didn’t want to camp since it was supposed to rain. We normally stay at another property off season but it was overpriced for what we wanted to spend this time so opted for a more inexpensive option this time. This was our first time at Vista Villa and we were fine with the accommodations. It is outdated and could use an update, tear out the carpet, and it was a little musty smelling, as other reviews stated but overall for the price it was a good stay. Service was nice and had daily maid service if you wanted it. Motel is fairly quiet, unless you have a loud Harley parked outside your room! One complaint we have is there could have been more pillows that were fluffier. If the air was kept on consistently, I think that would help with the musty smell. Also because this hotel is only open during summer season, being closed up for 5/6 months, they need to find someway to keep the mustiness down. There was visible mildew on the bed frame and stand with the refrigerator but it was dry. I do wish the TV’s were updated, channel surfing was hard because there was a delay for every station it landed on which was annoying but did appreciate having cable. The window coverings are not blackout which would be a good upgrade to consider too. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend you try this family owned motel.
