The rooms at Hyatt Ziva were very nice and upscale. They were kept very clean by the staff and were well stocked daily. The grounds are also well maintained and the pools look beautiful. The staff is very helpful and accommodating most of the time.
The food is good at this resort. A lot of options for the entire family. Specific restaurants we liked were the Asian, the Steakhouse, and the Italian. The Asian Hibachi was the food highlight of our trip! The chef Gilberto put on quite a show and made great food. The steakhouse was very elegant and the food was great. Our server, Esteban, took great care of us there. The Italian restaurant had great food, though it was slow service and the restaurant is outdoors so it got very hot waiting for our food. The Buffet was great for breakfast. The omelet stations are another highlight. The greeter Margherita was such a joy to talk to every morning!
There is a lot of room for improvement for this resort in some areas. The check-in and reservations for was chaotic. There were also unexpected "fees and taxes" added to our bill at check-in, which I was required to immediately pay. It is not good getting ambushed upon arrival like this.
The biggest complaint we have for this resort is the lack of entertainment. The shows and pool activities were boring and low quality. The shows were so bad many walked out. Our teenagers were bored by the second day so we had to go out of the resort to do entertainment.
