Perfect for our stay in Lille

The room was basic but very clean and comfortable. It's a short walk to the metro station and we were able to get into the centre of Lille quickly. There's plenty of parking and it was right outside our rooms too :) Staff were friendly and helpful.

This was not the first time we stayed here. They are busy with renovations of the rooms, but there was no noise or building work going on. That could be different in the coming days. The updates include fresh paint work and new decor in the shower. We slept very well and comfortable in the room. With so many restaurants all within walking distance and the Carrefour also within walking distance, it is our preferred place to stay whenever we want to spent a weekend grocery shopping in the area.

Comfortabele stay

I asked for certain rooms and my requests were honoured in full, which is much appreciated. Staff are friendly and they seemed to cope with my less than perfect French. Easy parking and a nice seating area outside where we enjoyed a few beers. There are plenty dining options all within easy walking distance should you not wish to dine in. Breakfast was good with plenty to chose from. In total, an excellent and very affordable stay.

Familiar hotel chain, with simple but good rooms and comfortable beds. Air conditioning available. Breakfast is extensive but during weekdays only available until 09.00 hrs. During weekends, breakfast can be taken until 11.00 hrs. This particular Campanile offers plenty of eating options within easy walking distance. Drinks are a bit expensive with €5,20 for a small beer. Go to the 3 Brasseurs in stead where a pint is €4 each day between 5 and 7 pm with a good selection of on premise brewed beers.

Typical run down French Motel chain

I never expect much when using these French Motel chains. This one was like every other one. They used to be good several years ago but they're now starting to look old and tatty. Cleanliness wasn't good. The bathroom stank of stale urine and despite being a non smoking room, everything stank of smoke.

Unclean and damp

The room was awful. I'm walking in it smelt strongly of urine. The floor next to the bathroom was soaking wet. The bedsheets were stained. There were flies in the room. Thick dust on the tv side. Air conditioning had been dismantled and because it is a motel with outside metal shutters for curtains you cannot have a window open. I had to stay 1 night but cancelled my booking for the next 2. When I left very early the next morning my clothes and shoes were damp. Never have I moved from a hotel and never have I been in a room so unclean.

It was okay

It's a budget hotel so didn't have high expectations. Something to note is this is more like an American motel - the rooms are accessed from outside along the edges of the building. No lift as stated which was fine - spiders everywhere in the outside corridors though. Room itself well, I guess it looks like the picture but with yellowed walls. Horrible smell in the room, can't place it at all. Air conditioning if thats what it was didn't work, just blew room temp or hot air around the room depending on where you selected on the dial. Bathroom was adequate but clearly not cleaned properly given there was someone else's hair in the sink and dirt on the floor. Toilet had a mysterious brown stain under the water line too. The bed was comfortable, I slept well on it which was a definite plus. Security is pretty good since you have to cover the window with an electronic metal shutter at night. There was a kettle in the room, some spare sheets and a TV. I didn't try the breakfast but assume that was also okay given a few people were eating it.

Les chambres viennent d'être rénovées. Elles sont confortables, mais l'éclairage est insuffisant. En raison des travaux en cours dans l'hôtel, le réceptionniste m'a informé qu'il me faisait grâce des frais de parking. C'est ainsi que j'ai découvert que le parking était devenu payant dans ce Campanile. Trois euros par nuitée. Il n'y a pas de petit profit.

Séjour d’une nuit dans ce campanile qui est en rénovation Ma chambre était une chambre rénovée mais la qualité de cette rénovation laisse à désirer. La salle de bain est trop peu illuminée peut etre du que l’éclairage n’as pas était remplacé et est trop ancienne, les néons peinent à s’allumer et distributeur à savon posé en vrac sur le lavabo et la bonne vielle baignoire La literie est de bonne qualité par exemple Le petit déjeuner est un nouveau concept peu pratique et je trouve que pour 13 euros l’aménagement des produits poser en vrac sur une table en hauteur pas pratique et la qualité des produits laisse à désirer. L’autre campanile de Lille sud est d’ancienne génération pour le petit déjeuner et a donc garder le point fort des hôtels campanile
