Mold in the bathroom, dirty carpets in the room. Bad service at breakfast, flies at the buffet, not much variety. For the room rate really not recommended. Strange neighborhood, very dirty. Region is not recommended for women traveling alone.

The rooms were spacious. However, the low temp on the A/C was a bit higher than I like. The reception told me all rooms are set to the same temp and they can't do an individual adjustment, but did offer to change rooms, which I declined. The mattress on the bed was not quite right and I never slept well during the two nights I was there. On the first morning I arrived at breakfast at 7:05 AM, a few minutes after the start of breakfast. It appeared that a large German tour group had arrived earlier and taken most of the tables and nearly cleaned out the buffet judging by the empty serving trays that never got replenished for the most part while I was at breakfast. Parking is about a block away at the train station and cost me 39 euros.

I certainly could not find anything bad to say about the room and its cleanliness and facilities. The staff made us foreigners feel very welcome and most were thankfully able to speak English as we are SO lazy, aren't we? The one problem was the breakfast. Plenty to choose from in the fruit, cereals etc category, but most of the party I was travelling with were not keen on having to fry your own egg etc. Not everyone wants scrambled. The problem extended to the somewhat over-eagerness of the staff who, maybe because they were not actually serving your needs, were very eager to clear your place, even though you may have just ventured to get another cuppa, or choose something else. Seemed annoying and unnecessary

I was delighted with my stay at this hotel, it went above my expectations. I was impressed with the look and feel of the reception and bar area when we arrived nice relaxed stylish vibe. Checking was smooth and quick. I stayed here with my husband, daughter (2 years) and son (1 year) for a long weekend, I emailed in advance asking for a baby cot and this was in the room when we arrived. Not only that but we were upgraded to an executive room so had an Nespresso maker, nice toiletries and a free mini bar which was replenished on the second day – much appreciated when we got back to the room with the outdoor temperature at 33 degrees a nice cold drink! Plenty of nice soft towels in the bathroom and a hairdryer. Toilet was separate to bathroom which worked well in someways but a little annoying to have to go back to other room to wash hands. Open wardrobe fine for a short stay. Plenty of room for our suitcase and double buggy folded up. We loved the children’s play area at the front of the hotel it meant the little ones could stretch their legs and play – the Lego table is a good idea and the loved going in and out of the wigwam. Whilst daddy and I also loved the table football - it was also nice that we could also enjoy a drink from the bar whilst they played. Although I had to give up being served on the second day after a ten minute wait. The Xbox 360 also looked good fun. Breakfast in the morning was good, a sensible selection of goods. Whilst not a massive choice something for everyone – cereal, breads, pastries, yoghurt and sausages, bacon and eggs. The tea selection was great fresh loose leaf and a fab Earl Grey, Orange juice and a selection of waters also available. We asked for our babies bottles to be sterilised and it was no problem for the staff and on the second day asked for a highchair again no problem. Also, nice to have the choice of taking breakfast in the outdoor courtyard if you wanted. The hotel is not far from the train station (10 mins walk) and a couple of doors before you get to the hotel is a Carrefour supermarket which was handy for ice cream/drinks. Everything was walkable from the hotel – we enjoyed visiting the zoo, various parks and eating in the old town and just off the main square. A great short trip with the kids giving us more confidence to do even more city breaks with them. I would not hesitate to return to this hotel if visiting Lille again. If you found my review helpful please give me a thumbs up.

We were fortune enough to pick-up a cheap deal with hotel and the price we paid on arrival felt correct. Only a five minute walk from the main station so very hand for those using the Eurostar service, we incidentally drove - all very straight forward. The hotel itself is well presented, nice lobby-come-bar area, the concierge was extremely nice and accommodating (instantly forgiving my woeful attempt at conversing in French!) Rooms were good and clean, nothing to be overly excited by nor nothing disappointing about the hotel. As normal, food and drink was overpriced but this not unique to this establishment. For Lille itself it's a vibrant and interesting visit - old meets new. This particular hotel is in the less developed area of Lille, but all the major 'must sees' are easily assessable by foot and like any major town/city a mixture of tourist and locals. As a family, we preferred the old part of town, less hustle and bustle definitely more child friendly. I would like to revisit Lille at some point but probably just as a couple and for purely personal preference stay on the other side of town - this is not the result of this good hotel, just more of a location thing.

After exploring Lille we realised what a beautiful town it was and what AMAzIng restaurants and food there is to discover at the old town ! The hotel was ok ; our heating / cooling system didn't work too well so we felt quite hot right through the night . Room was really clean etc etc and hotel is very well located . I have a few complaints about the breakfast though. There was not enough serving cutlery with the result some rather ignorant guest used the scrambled egg spoon into the baked beans etc etc.. interesting idea to have everyone make their own eggs but the excitement quickly does own when I almost burnt my fingers as the cute pans weren't heat proctected . My kids complained that even after waiting for a really long time they didn't get a chance to use the foos ball table

Excellent:clean, silent, modern hall, friendly staff, wifi works great, superb breakfast, near the station ( convenient although the neighbourhood is not pretty), with a good place for excercise, coffee and The possibilities in the room, large towels ( and several), really good value. I would go again!

Novotel Lille Centre Gares is a good hotel with excellent and attentive staff. The breakfast had a wide selection and the restaurant had very good food. The room was clean and comfy. I would use this hotel again.

Hotel has recently been refurbished. Rooms clean, modern and comfortable and a good size. Hotel offers a good selection of food for breakfast, included, and a reasonable meal menu which is a little pricey. Plenty of bars, restaurants nearby and within easy walking distance of city centre and train station.

rooms are pretty much alike. bed was pretty comfy bedding and pillows were good shower was ok towels were nice and big and fluffy. curtains were thick and kept the room quite dark internet was good there is a fridge for you to use all in all ok for what you pay didnt have breakfast
