Mercure Lille Centre Grand Place

A lovely centrally located hotel for a really reasonable rate. We had room 504 on 5th floor over looking the CCI Grand Lille and it’s clock tower. It had a lovely double door balcony and the room was funky and bijoux with a small bathroom that did the job. Room had a safe, bottle of water and coffee/tea facilities. Remember to switch on the air conditioning as it was quite warm. The bed was comfy and it there were more pillows in the cupboard if required plus a hairdryer. Breakfast was serve yourself in a little kitchenette on ground floor - ample foood even if you come down late - you can cook your own fried eggs (novel) although all around one stove so a little busy if you choose the wrong time. But breakfast was plentiful and considering it was all included in the price it was a really good deal. Yep would definitely stay here again.

Just returned after a weekend here . Great location and central to all of the shops and restaurants. Comfortable room with coffee making facilities. Self serve continental breakfast offered a good choice . Helpful staff. Would stay here again if I visit Lille .

Location: Hotel is very well located in a historical property. Steps from the city famous square. There is also a huge shopping mall in the area. Parking was easy but a little challenging for dropping baggage. There is a public underground garage nearby (but not next door), and the area is very busy. Check in was quick and informative. They even suggested restaurants that were still open. Room: adequate but small for a Mercure. I struggled with all the bags. Lille is pretty and Christmas decoration was superb. Be careful when driving in the area, specially when there is fog in the forecast. Breakfast everything is delicious with great French quality, but it was just too busy with all that people. Rather go elsewhere. Hotel is a good option.

I have now stayed at the hotel several times and consider it my first choice when I visit Lille. I have stayed there about four times now. I stay in one of the Privilege Suites, which is a good sized room. The hotel is so centrally located that it is easy to enjoy the city. I have since had the breakfast, which is modest but tasty.

Can’t remember ever giving a 5 rating for a hotel before, but it’s just perfect. Firstly a 10 minute walk from the Eurostar train station, it’s location cannot be bettered in our opinion. Right in the heart of beautiful Lille overlooking the Opera house but a street back thus making it very quiet. Greeted by friendly staff, very clean and well equipped room. Can’t fault anything. We didn’t use the restaurant or bar so can’t comment on them. Highly recommended.

I have stayed here several times and it has always been enjoyable. The hotel is well-kept, the bedrooms are bright, comfortable and well equipped. The staff are friendly and the hotel is extremely well placed for the centre of Lille, particularly the old town, which I think is the best area for shops, bars and restaurants. There is the usual niggle of there only being paper cups in the bedrooms, which is the same in all Mercure hotels. This hotel has the advantage of having a dining room where food and snacks can be purchased at any time. My only criticism of this would be having to pay 2.50eur every time I wanted an espresso. I have stayed in several small hotels in Paris, for example, where tea and coffee are provided free of charge in the lobby area. However, I would definitely recommend staying here if you are in Lille. Sent from my iPhone

A bit of a mixed bag, but on the whole I will be going back. I was in a room with some great decoration and much better than most hotels. But the room is a little small. Good to have a small table and chair to work at. The shower was a little unpredictable in terms of power, but plenty of hot water. Super fast Internet and able to stream Netflix without any issues. Breakfast had a good choice especially the warm bread!

An old building with character that houses a very nice and friendly hotel right in the centre of Lille. The rooms are large enough with a boutique feel from the decoration. Staff are helpful. Breakfast is good in a relaxed surrounding and the rooms were clean and in good condition. Tea making facilities were a bit basic as was the mini bar, which was just a bottle of water. The hotel has a bar but the prices were steep at €23 for a Gin and Tonic and a JD and coke. For the rooms, my wife appreciated the good mirrors and long corded hair dryer. Good wardrobe space and there was a safe as expected. There is an evening meal in the hotel but it’s a limited buffet and given the close proximity of many restaurants it’s difficult to criticise. I would happily use this hotel again and enjoyed our stay. There is no free parking but you can either use the street car parking which is €17 for 5 hours and equates to €34 per day as you have to pay between 9am and 7pm or use the underground car parks close by which are 15 euros per day. Street parking on Sunday is free. Lille is wonderful and this hotel made you feel part of its grandeur.

Just had an excellent 4 day break in lille, could have been a bit warmer but you can't have everything Hotel is just behind the Opera House right in the centre of Lille and a short walk from Old Lille. We were given a room upgrade to a junior suite on the first floor which was excellent, comfy bed, plenty of room, new bathroom, nice and warm. Just excellent Reception staff were friendly and helpful as were the staff in the breakfast room and bar staff Excellent breakfast, just about everything you could want really We will come back next time we visit Lille

I stayed here for 2 nights during a trade show. I got a very good welcome with a big smile. The elevator was under maintenance but they carried my bags to a higher floor with a smile. Breakfast options were good. They also made a recommendation for a nice wine bar close to the hotel. I will stay here again, no doubt. Great staff. Room was big and I slept well.
