Wonderful host, beautiful home and amazing location! Upon arrival we had a delicious loaf of fresh bread, and fresh eggs for our stay. Definitely a gem! Was the perfect get away from the world our family needed!!

Dates: Dec. 22- 29, 2026. This was our second time staying at Smooth as Glass while visiting our son, who lives nearby. The house is very comfortable, overlooks the Tennessee River, and is close to the many attractions Huntsville has to offer. Julia is very helpful, and also makes her guests feel very welcome. Upon arrival, she surprised us with a dozen freshly laid eggs, a homemade loaf of bread and a jar of peach preserves. Highly recommended!

Smooth As Glass was the perfect place to stay for our party's trip to play disc golf in North Alabama. Easy central access to Huntsville, Guntersville, and Decatur made planning easy. The view of the river was exceptional and the amenities inside insured that after a long day outside, we had whatever we needed to prepare food, take care of my dog, or wind down to rest. Thank you so much for providing such a great house for our trip!

Wedding weekend

This house was everything that was in the advertisement. It was so nice showing up late in the evening and having outside lighting around chairs and campfire ready for use. The inside was decorated very cozy and had everything and anything yiu could need. I would definitely stay at this ho.e agin. Eay better than staying in a hot anyday and the views of the river and peaceful front porch sittings were wonderful. Thank you so much!campfire ready to go

Peaceful Getaway!

We had a wonderful time here; it was exactly the quiet getaway we were looking for! Comfortable, clean, and gorgeous views. We did not meet our hosts in person but had great communication through the app. They were so kind and left special welcome gifts for our check-in. even though it’s off the beaten path, it’s not too far from bigger city areas, so there’s plenty to do.

Smooth as glass

This is a very comfortable home, located very close to anywhere you may want to visit, in or near, Huntsville. We stayed at the Smooth As Glass Chalet during the Christmas holidays. Craig and Julia went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. They welcomed us with a completely decorated home, both inside and out, and also provided goodies for us and our dog: fresh eggs, fruit, cookies and dog treats. The location is so serene. I truly enjoyed being able to see the River and hope to return when the weather is warmer so that we can take full advantage of all the are has to offer.I will definitely reach out to them in the future whenever we travel to Huntsville area.

Wonderful Stay!

I planned a visit with my brother who lives in the area. These hosts are so wonderful and the property is so nice. This home is well cared for. The hosts left some wonderful treats for us. We slept well in the comfortable beds and enjoyed the beautiful view. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

A wonderful experience

We have truly enjoyed spending our time in Smooth as Glass Chalet! Julia’s and Craig’s kindness and generosity have been amazing. The house was well stocked with everything we needed, and our questions were promptly answered! It was truly a wonderful experience. We do hope to return to Huntsville soon and to their beautiful home.

Memorable Stay!

Booked this amazing property for a fishing tournament my husband and I traveled out from California for. The house was clean, charming and well stocked with everything we needed (toiletries, cooking wear, towels, hair dryer, etc.). Julia and Craig were great hosts, very communicative and made us feel welcome with a handwritten card and some local gifts. Thank you Craig and Julia!

Beautiful home on the river!

This was the perfect location to visit our son and daughter in law in Huntsville. Close to the city, but peaceful and quiet. The owners were wonderful! We loved the cookies!!

Absolutely wonderful!

Our stay at Julia’s home in Laceys Spring was wonderful! The home is beautiful and comfortable, and our hosts did not neglect any details… down to shampoo, lotion, and bubble bath! The home was immaculate, the beds were extremely comfortable, the jetted tub and shower were fabulous, and the kitchen was fully equipped. We enjoyed the peacefulness as we drank our morning coffee on the deck, and the fenced in area was just wonderful for our little pup! It truly felt like a home away from home. We look forward to staying again when we return to Huntsville! Thanks so much!
