Property was very nice upon entrance and so were the staff however the hotel smells like smoke and even our towels did as well. The rooms also are not as nice as the hotel lobby which give off a different vibe. We did also find a bug on our bed at night. Both of which we expressed to the reception and they just said “sorry.”
Great hotel in Kyoto. Very attentive staff. Clean quiet rooms, hotel has a very relaxed atmosphere. Japanese style rooms are very comfortable. Good breakfast.
The workers at the front counter are very fast, proficient in english, and friendly. The interior of both the lobby and the room was very clean and aesthetic. The men’s bath was amazing.
Cool ‘Japanese’ style room with separate entrance, tatami mat etc. Room is a little cuttered so feels small; hotel is pretty western.
Hotel spa requires guests to cover up tattoos according to the rules. They sell coverup stickers for ¥200c but for anything other than a small tattoo you’ll need a LOT of them. Guests in the spa didn’t actually care about the presence of tattoos, however…..
Very nice hotel with Japanese touches. They have daily short performances by Japanese artists such as kabuki and geisha which i highly recommend. For geisha in particular i hope this discourages tourists from chasing them since they've had the chance to see one up close and take photos. The onsen is also very nice.
Well located hotel. Modern and several small touches to make the stay welcoming and comfortable. Breakfast was good with wide choice of food. However, the breakfast items are the same everyday for our 6 nights stay.
Lovely hotel, great location for markets, night life with easy transport options near by if you don't want to walk too far. Rooms are small as expected however well appointed. Fresh towels, water and tea coffee matcha delivered to room daily. Rooms cleaned/serviced every 2nd day. The shared bath onsen was great. Would definitely recommend staying here.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Resol Trinity Kyoto. The location is excellent, tucked away in a peaceful spot but still very central and within walking distance to many of Kyoto’s main attractions, restaurants, and transport links. The hotel has a calm, stylish atmosphere and the rooms, while compact, are very clean and thoughtfully designed. Staff were friendly and always willing to help. Great value for money, would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Kyoto!
The rooms have a traditional Japanese look to them. Everything is great for a more economical hotel -- shopping is walkable and everything is clean. Service is good for the level of hotel. A good experience!
Beautifully designed building; room was comfortable mix of tradition with modern; great location; appreciated the thoughtful scheduling of cultural performances right in the hotel. Rooftop views were also awesome.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
This is a 3 star hotel. The staff are helpful and the location is good. But the standard rooms are too small for more than a couple of nights. And there are irritating details: only one tiny shelf in the bathroom, and the infotainment does not have the restaurant menu, nor whether the onsen is occupied.
Staff was incredibly nice and welcoming everytime. Prob one of the best spot to stay rooms were nice and the hotel is great very clean and nice . Dining was walkable and 711 was right at the corner for morning snacks.
