True spirit of aloha

We had a wonderful time and Nick and Nicole were truly above and beyond hosts, making our stay just perfect! The property is just as described, although note that it is right by the main road so you will hear/see traffic. If you are looking for an amazing location with a gorgeous view of the ocean and above and beyond hospitality for a fraction of the cost of other rentals in the area this is your spot! We loved the separate AC in the rooms and having 2 full bathrooms so everyone could get a shower and some privacy when they wanted to. The well-appointed kitchen had everything we needed, and we made great use of the beach umbrellas, chairs, boogie boards, etc. for the quick trip to Hapuna and other nearby beaches. Comfy beds and blackout curtains made for a great night’s sleep. Nick and Nicole were immediately responsive when we had a question — even after checkout, which is almost unheard of! We accidentally left some medication in the fridge after checkout didn’t realize until the next day. Nick brought it to us near our next location and even gave us a cooler bag and cold packs to keep. Such kind and lovely hosts, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Highly recommend.

The property was near some of the best beaches in the island. The owners were super attentive. Nick and Nicole sent us a fresh loaf of raisin bread, which we enjoyed with a fresh a cup of coffee every morning,which was also provided. The house had all the amenities we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked. The house was pretty clean. The owners even had a folder with recommendations of places to eat and things to do in the island. Nick and Nicole were very responsive to our inquiries. We' ve stayed at various short-term rentals, but none of them have made us feel so welcomed and at home like Nick and Nicole. Thank you Nick and Nicole for your hospitality.

Like Home

This place was the perfect home base for an amazing, adventure-filled vacation on Kona. We travelled to Kona with our 3 kids (ages 7, 10, 12), and location was perfect for beach days to Hapuna and Spencer beaches a stone's throw away. One day I even jogged from the house to the beach for some exercise. Lots of great food in Waimea when we wanted to eat out, and well stocked kitchen when we wanted to eat in. The grill was great for grilling kebabs one night, and hamburgers another. Overall the place was very clean, and very well stocked with about anything you could need. The hosts were amazing. Super responsive and helpful. They made us feel so welcome, with toys and boogie boards set out for the kids, and some delicious warm fresh baked bread when we arrived. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay on the Kohala Coast—-a stones throw from all the beautiful beaches, yet also close to our friends in Waimea. This was a very clean VRBO with a nice BBQ and outdoor area. It was a beautiful home away from home! Loved our time here. Hosts were great! ….till next time….

Best hosts EVER

The house was well-stocked, and the location is beautiful, but what I really need to rave about is the hosts. Nick and Nicole truly care about their guests and made us feel so welcome! Arriving in the evening of the 18th from the midwest (a long trip with two children), we were pleased to find the homemade bread that other reviewers mentioned. Along with butter and jam and a full bag of coffee, it ensured that we'd have something to fortify us in the morning even though we hadn't yet had a chance to get groceries. In addition, there was an adorable stuffed turtle to greet our kids, which delighted them! For Christmas, my husband bought a nice beef tenderloin at the Waimea Butcher Shop; we couldn't find a meat thermometer. A quick text to Nick, and we returned from church on the morning of 12/25 to find one at the door! The hosts also provided numerous recommendations prior to our stay and offered us a late checkout since our flight wasn't until the evening. Their guest comment form specifically asked for maintenance needs we noticed and suggestions for improvement. Nick and Nicole truly care about providing a great experience! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook, the backyard is gorgeous. There were plenty of beach toys, an umbrella, boogie board, and coolers for the beach. Also, there are oodles of towels - and places to hang them. The location is ideal to explore Kohala beaches and take day trips to Volcanoes NP and the Hamakua Coast. Truly a FIVE STAR VRBO!

Little Gem

This place is super ship shape, efficient with space and has everything you need. It also is minutes from some of the best beaches and just up the hill is Waimea. The hosts were more than attentive, checking in with us from time to time. They made us fresh baked bread when we arrived, which we majorly needed as our flight was delayed and we were so hungry. My little one also got a sea urchin sting and Nicole delivered a basket of toys to the door!! Nicholas and Nicole are a lovely couple and really care about their guests. Definitely will be coming back.

I cannot recommend this place enough. I came here for a conference and this place had everything I needed to ensure a nice, relaxing and comfortable stay. The hosts were readily available. They even made me feel even more welcome by gifting me fresh bread. Their generosity is unmatched. The location is very quiet and the neighbors are respectful. A true oasis.

Beautiful Beach House, Super Close to the best Beaches and Resorts!

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful and charming beach home! There was plenty of room for our family of four and there was even a bonus bathroom which was perfect for the kids! The house is completely updated and everything felt new. The massage chair is seriously amazing and we would probably come back just for that, but our stay was so perfect, we will definitely return! The hosts are so welcoming and treated us like family. We loved all of the touches like fun lights in the backyard and gear for the beach. The best beaches on the island are so close and we had some amazing meals at the nearby resorts. Staying at this beautiful home with the ability to cook our own food, while taking advantage of the nearby beaches and resorts was the best of both worlds for us!! Thank you for an amazing Hawaiian family vacation!

Can't wait to come back

This was our 2nd visit to Hale 'Uhane. It was an easy decision to stay here again. The hosts are so kind and wonderful. The house has eveything our little family could want. It was well-stocked for beach adventures, plenty of utensils and cookware, room for the kids to run around outside, and a relaxing space outdoors. The lights and tiki torches at night were fun too. We love the location for getting to our favorite beaches early and quick trips to Waimea.

Peaceful Big Island Getaway

We had a wonderful stay and couldn't be happier. The fresh baked bread was as a welcome gift and was fantastic. The property was well stocked with everything you'd need for an extended stay away from home. This is a quiet location away from all the hustle and bustle from the busy tourist areas and perfect for our group. We loved how quickly we could be on our way to a variety of adventures and then return to a peaceful home to visit, cook, watch stars and enjoy cool breezes on the patio with our friends. I would book here again the next time I come to see the big island.

Awesome location, clean and comfortable

My husband and two teenage daughters just stayed for a week and had a great time! The house was very comfortable, well stocked and a great location to our favorite beaches. There were plenty of towels, kitchen needs, and beach gear. We really enjoyed having the boogie boards and sunshade umbrellas. Hapuna beach nearby was amazing for boogie boarding and playing. You can tell the owners really care about their property and guests. They were wonderful and left us homemade bread upon arrival. We also loved the massage chair. We drove to many different locations on the big island, including Captain Cook snorkeling, as well as some waterfalls near Hilo. We enjoyed this location because we could relax at one of the beaches nearby the house, but could have some other adventures around the island when we wanted. We would definitely stay again.

This beautiful home gave me and my kids the peace and quiet we needed. I liked that it was outside of Kona. Yet it was only 3 minutes away from Spencer Beach Park. I've been to Kona three times Spencer Beach Park is one of my favorites cuz it's really easy for the kids to swim there. This is my first time staying at this home and I hope it's available next time I'm on the Big Island! This home has all the amenities you need. Plenty of space for us and we are a family of five. There was a loaf of bread and a bottle of wine waiting for us which I think was very kind of the owners to do.

Best stay ever

Best rental we ever had honestly, we feel truly blessed and loved when staying at this place. The host really means it when they say you're welcome as family! You can feel the love of the hosts from the details of the house. We were welcomed with homemade sourdough bread, butter and jam after a long flight arriving after midnight and no food! We had everything we needed for the beach provided. The massage chair is definitely a bonus and enjoyed by all of us. We asked for the bread recipe at the end of our stay and was even gifted a sourdough starter. We definitely hope to return here someday! Thank you so much for making our Kona trip amazing.

Highly Recommend

We enjoyed this property very much. We were very busy with family during our two week stay and wished we could have enjoyed the property more. The backyard is set up beautifully and the view is wonderful. We LOVED the massage chair and now feel we really need one. Lol. The house us VERY nicely equipped if you’re going to cook and air conditioning in every room. Really a 5 star stay. (The house does back up to a somewhat busy street but it didn’t bother us and traffic slows down a lot at night. We didn’t hear it at all when in the house.) The hosts are very responsive and super nice. Loved the fresh baked bread on arrival. It is also close to some of the best beaches on the Island. We would definitely stay here again!

Great holiday getaway for adult family’s first time on the Big Island

My 84 yr old father, my husband and my sister and I enjoyed this vacation house for the holidays. We were able to visit the whole island’s sites in day trips and come home to great sunsets and bbq dinners. The massage chair was very relaxing while watching a movie. The beach chairs and towels were so nice to take with us and check out beaches and snorkel spots. Very well appointed for activities and rest. Nick was quick to respond to the only issue we had with the router and we were back online! Super hosts!

Amazing Place in Paradise!

This was the perfect house for our family! It had everything we needed and then more. The location was perfect, close to the best beaches on the island and lots of great dining. The guest book provided lots of ideas for activities, shopping and places to eat. The hosts were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond, especially with the thoughtful homemade sweetbread waiting for us when we arrived, the delicious Hawaiian coffee, drinks and even sand toys for the kids! Wonderful vacation! Mahalo ❤️

My family had a wonderful time staying at the property. The hosts were very welcoming and communication was great. The house was exceptionally well stocked and appointed. We were very comfortable. The location 5 minutes from some of the very best beaches on the island made it easy to go down to one beach in the morning, come home for lunch, and then head to another beach in the afternoon. Its also a short drive to Hawi or Waimea for those periods when something other than beach time is called for. We would be very happy to stay there again in the future.

Perfect Getaway

This property was the perfect place for our Big Island trip. From the time we booked early spring until the day we left, everything went smoothly. Communication was prompt and never overbearing. The binder in the home outlined the owners’ expectations and reviews of amenities. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable home with a great backyard and close to the best beaches on the island, this is the place for you. We would stay here again, without hesitation!

A Great Vacation!

Nicole was an amazing host. After a long day of travel, I was welcomed to the house by a loaf of freshly baked bread, a bottle of wine, coffee and snacks placed on the kitchen counter. The house was perfect for us - the view is incredible and Nicole is an exceptional host! She and Nick are very accommodating, helpful and gracious. I look forward to booking with them again in the future!

A Hidden Gem

Awesome! Had everything you could ask for & more, including everything you need for the beach. Beautiful view of the ocean from the backyard, & multiple beaches within 15 minutes. An added plus was the Awesome & Relaxing massage chair, especially after a fun filled day at the beach. Nicole & Nick were gracious & always helpful whenever we had any questions. They always made us feel welcome & at home. We definitely would stay there again. We would give them a 10 star rating, if we could!
