Convenient to Moccasin Springs Spa & Hot Springs, and to Wind Cave NP. Room was spacious, bed was comfortable. Hot breakfast was hearty and tasty, with scrambled eggs, sausage patties, biscuits & gravy. Although the property appears to be understaffed, Chuck the overnight staffperson was friendly and helpful, as was the gal in charge of breakfast. The same cannot be said of the surly evening gal that checked us in. A check-in that should have taken 2 minutes took over 10 as the first room assigned had a giant fan blowing it dry, while the keycards for the next room immediately malfunctioned twice. In all, 4 trips between rooms and front desk were required to obtain a satisfactory room and keycards. At no time were apologies offered for any of the inconvenience, nor did it appear that this person saw resolving guest problems as part of her job description. Especially annoying given we had just arrived after a long tiring car trip and just wanted to check in to our damned room and go to sleep.

This hotel is in bad need of many repairs. The room that we got had a chair that was so disgustingly dirty and broken, I couldn't believe it was there. When I spoke to the woman at the front desk, she did come up and agreed and provided us with two new chairs. This was much appreciated, but I couldn't believe that their housekeeping staff didn't already bring this to somebody's attention.

The staff here are incredible. Very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious. The hallways/exterior grounds could definitely use some work.

The first thing we noticed was a long black hair on the sheet of the bed. Smell was like they were covering something up. We needed to leave after one night but since we paid Expedia we could not get a refund for the second night. Breakfast was not good.

To start out our stay, a hour later we were told as we were going, that the pool is closed during the winter (inside pool). We get to our room and the floor is filthy with visible crumbs, dirt and whatever else. There was also trash inside the night stand. Also purchased this room due to the fact it had a pull out sofa and were told if we pull the bed out we will be fined. To top off the room cleanliness, there was quite a bit of hair left inside the tub. Granted I could have let it slide being maybe a couple but this looked as if someone had bathed their dog. The breakfast was awful. They had the fridge set so cold it froze all the products inside, the biscuits were so hard and gravy tasted old. Won’t be returning or recommending this facility.

Do not stay here

• Water damage and disrepair everywhere. • We rented rooms with pull out sofas only to find notes on the pull out sofas that we would be charged $100 fine if we used them. • We booked two rooms on hotels.com for one price. Got there and they told us they only had a reservation for one room, let us book as second room but upcharged us more than what we booked on hotels.com • Booked this hotel because website said it had a pool. Got there and pool is closed. It was full of old mattresses. • Breakfast was from 6a - 9a, and they ran out of food by 8a. No fresh fruit, limited choices, very disappointing.
