There was no power for a day and it was so hot didnt sleep. I had to climb 7 floors down creepy stairs and it was harder to climb up. The condition of the walls and curtains can improve a lot

The carpet in our room was a bit dirty, though the beds and bathroom were clean. It is in an excellent location close to 2 metro stops and streets upon streets of excellent dining options.

Sorry will never book hotels com again

When I arrived to hotel I was informed there is no room for me, even I payed in advance. Service was terrible, they put me in another awful hotel. Imagine when you come to China and you want to rest, no no it was terrible, never take this hotel, sorry but I will never reccomend anybody HOTELS.com service, will never book again by hotel.com

A heritage building, close to everywhere, you pay what you get ...There is no central heating, I visited during a cold wave. I couldnt even get an extra blanket on the 1st night, 2nd night, I cant tolerate this cold anymore.. eventually the staff did bring me one.. This hotel is in some sort of heritage old building.. things are felling apart.. the fridge did not work, the shampoo dispenser didnt work... the staff did try to keep everything together and helpful.. i think if you dont mind the condition, it's near everything and plenty of food options..

Not worth the money

The stay was very below-average for the price. Not at all happy with the service. The website mentions that they speak english but not one of the staff member knows any bit of english. They are not co-operative at all and the prices are truly unjustified.

Rats ,Cockroaches ,worst run down hotel in China. My stay was a epic mess,the room i got on the 6th floor was a run down smoking room .The carpet and stains that looked like feces .The bed gave me bed mites on the first day and left my legs bitten .The shower had no door and when i showered I had a cockroache always taken a look from a vent .The sheets weren't changed till 3rd day .The staff at desk were usless and had no care about my situation .Expedia was a joke and they told me to push harder with the hotel ...I did and the hotel told me if i didn't like it leave .The hotel was suppose to be 1.5miles from canton fair ,try 1.5 hrs on a bus from there .The carpet in the hall ways were held together by tape ,on the first three floors they have people who run small business from there rooms so the elevators were always full with boxes and people picking confiet items up.

Usually I stay at a hotel a block away but the price was higher than usual so I tried xinhua. I was worried at first that it wouldn't be as good. But it is well worth the money close to the market and room with a window. I don't recommend the restaurant below mooncafe. They had a sick worker sneeze on my food and try to serve it to me. But the hotel is good and nothing to complain about.

Worst hotel I ever stayed at

When we arrived, the staff couldn't find our booking and took a long time to finish check in. We booked a room for 2 nights with double bed and they gave us a twin. We were not very happy but that's fine until a cockroach showed up. So we went back to the reception, however the staff doesn't seem to be surprised and was not very fond of giving us a different room. We got upgraded and the room is not actually any better in my point of view. The bed is hard like no mattress at all. The bathroom is "old" and the towel they offer have stains. We had a real window, but my friend's room only had a window frame without glasses. When you go to the hotel from metro station, which is most travellers would use for transport, you will have to walk passed a very busy area. There are a lot of people with trolleys full of stocks going around ignoring traffic lights, cars or pedestrians day and night. I personally don't think this is a good location as I was so stressed every time I walked pass there. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

No frills budget hotel at best location

Only consider this hotel if you are in for the IT and garment wholesale markets nearby. Great location, accessible to metro (6 minute walk), beside the Pearl River and many eateries nearby. Don't expect much service for the price that you are paying. Room is old but clean. Bedding is very hard.
