Very clean with up-to-date amenities; the kitchen had everything we needed, and then some. Excellent location just a few minutes from Gladstone. We particularly liked the kayaking on the Escanaba River. Google maps didn't give an accurate location, but the directions provided by the owner were spot on, making the home extremely easy to get to.

Nice stay

Thanks for a great stay! The directions were clear, and house was a neat little property! It had a fun vibe! Only some small issues, but likely related to the fact that we stayed in the winter / off-season. The owner was responsive and kind, and he took care of what we needed!

Michigan Upper Peninsula summer Retreat

We enjoyed a lovely and tranquil stay on a vacation property on the Escanaba river; away from the hustle and bustle of a major metropolitan area. The property offered kayaks and life vests for those inclined to enjoy the river. The property manager was helpful and available to answer with any questions. The interior was tastefully decorated and their were plenty of towels and linens. The kitchen was well appointed with dishes, glasses, cups, pans, and cooking utensils to use if you desired to cook a meal during your stay. We made use of the propane fueled barbeque grill and spent a few evenings sitting on the porch viewing the sunset. I would certainly recommend staying at the property.

Beautiful home in wonderful location

My husband and I took a last minute getaway with the dog while our kids were away at camp. We hadn’t been to this part of the UP before so didn’t really know where to stay. We feel so lucky to have found Phil’s place. Super dog friendly, very cozy and a beautiful space plus very conveniently located to restaurants and hiking trails. We didn’t make time to take advantage of the supplied kayaks but appreciated that life vests in like new condition were supplied. We did swim in the river which was awesome. Phil was super friendly and accommodating and gave us great tips about the area. Highly recommend his place and the area. We will definitely be back.

Great relaxing property!

We recently stayed at this place and loved it! The property was nice and clean, and had a fully stocked kitchen. Some lovely touches included a variety of coffee flovours by the coffee station, wine glasses and a blender for drinks. Baking sheets, aluminum foil and a hand mixer were also to be found. The bathrooms had fluffy towels, and also a hair dryer. We appreciated the comfy mattress, laundry soap & softener, iron, and other essentials one might need. We enjoyed sitting on the covered porch and made good use of the provided gas grill. Heat and A/C functioned flawless. While eating meals, we enjoyed a great view on the Escanaba River from both the counter and the dining table. Kajaks & life vests were provided to use, as well as fire wood by the fire pit. Although it is not completely quiet, (some traffic noise from the nearby red bridge, construction across the river and shooting range can’t be helped) it was still enjoyable! This property is not isolated by all means as mentioned in the previous review, as there are neighbors and another rental next door. I am sure families with children and/or pets would love the large yard area to run around and play! We also had a furry visitor greeting us! Wi-Fi was a bit tricky to log on to, but the owner was easily reached and problems resolved with the help of a neighbor and associate. This property is a lovely find, it completely served our needs and we would stay here again and recommend it!

Excellent property

The house was new, clean and included all the amenities we needed. The property is on the river with a small dock and a number of kayaks for your use. Our stay was excellent. I highly recommend this property. Note: you need to follow the driving directions provided by the property owner. Initially, I just plugged the address into Google Maps and it did not get me to right location.
