Fabulous hotel in a great location. Relaxed atmosphere but staff really attentive and happy to help. Room allocated was great, spacious and good cleanliness and facilities. Wi-Fi was poor however on both mine and husbands phones. Pool and gardens were excellent, no problem with sunbeds although a lot were reserved before breakfast. Fresh iced water available at multiple stations around the pool which was a great idea. The breakfast was excellent - lots of choice, good quality and in a great setting. Would it hesitate to visit this hotel again.

The Parkroyal Hotel in Penang holds a special place in my heart simply because my family has been staying there for the last 30+ years. I have many fond memories of this place. That being said, my recent visit to the Parkroyal left me sorely disappointed. Spa; I had emailed the Spa to book ahead of time what my mother and myself wanted however nobody got back to us. When I then followed this up with a phone call, the therapist couldn’t understand that I was calling from abroad even though I had stated at this very clearly in both English and in Malay. When we had our treatments It was great. Noor my therapist was very adept in the session. However, I wasn’t so impressed with the dead cockroach that greeted me in the bathroom. Reception; we had booked two rooms-a premier room and a suite. For some reason I had to request that my payment for the suite be done when I checked in. Gowri wanted to do it after. She then billed me incorrectedly and had to do another transaction. When I was checking out, I came twice to clear out my charges and when I asked if there was anything else, Gowri said no. Two hours later when I’m out of Penang I get a WhatsApp message asking me if they could charge my credit card because they forgot to charge me the heritage tax. What’s the point of me coming in daily to clear out my charges if you’re going to then pull a stunt like this? I’ll be back in Penang this April and I’m hoping the hotel would be more organized and efficient.

Spotless room' great view. Staff were really kind and helpful. Pools were great, our 11 year old really enjoyed the slides. Food was delicious, and breakfast was mind-blowing, such a selection. Overall we were really pleased with our visit and would definitely stay again.

Felt like the room was a bit outdated and could have used some maintenance. The facilities were fine though the pools were quite small and because so many families with small kids were there, it wasn’t a relaxing place to go. But the breakfast was good, the lounge was great, and the staff were friendly and awesome.

The hotel was magnificent. We paid a little extra for a suite and it was well worth it. The staff were always so polite and friendly. Couldn’t fault it. If you are going to stay in Penang make sure you stay at the Park Royal.

Fantastic hotel, very clean, friendly staff, great facilities and incredible breakfast. Direct access to private beach area was very pleasant, the pool area was very well kept, spacious and comfortable. Great amenities available and the gym was very well equipped and well maintained. Finally, the breakfast was outstanding, loads of options available and really good quality. Highly recommended
