King bed (brand new top of the line Sealy), fully equiped and stocked kitchen including icemaker and dishwasher, in unit washer/dryer, all linens and towels included, central air/heat, 55" Smart TV, Direct TV, wifi and DVD in living room and Smart TV, Direct TV in bedroom. Close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, wineries, breweries, restaurants, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and canoeing. Fiddlers Convention, Blue Ridge Music Center and famous Rex Theatre. If you need us to shop for you, or stock something special, we'd be happy to.
The vacation home is air-conditioned and features a kitchen and a patio, and there's space to spread out with a separate bedroom and a dining area. The house was very well decorated and very clean. We traveled to be with my Grandparents for Thanksgiving Holiday. They live on the Blue Ridge Parkway so this country location was a close drive to their home. It had been years since we had seen them, so we had a good family reunion with the group.

Perfect Weekend

We had a fantastic weekend in Galax. This is our 3rd stay at Shepherd's Rest and, as usual, the home was clean and inviting. The weather was beautiful though we were probably a week early for leaf peeping. Kathy is an excellent communicator. We look forward to staying here again.

Blue Ridge Mountains Galax

Nice place to enjoy the many offerings of the region. Perfect size for 2 - husband + wife. Pet friendly. We enjoyed biking the New River Trail, the Blue Ridge Parkway and music at the Blue Ridge Music Center.

A beautiful peaceful stay

I have been in real estate for 37 years and this property was beautiful. The scenic view from the covered porch and the inside was as comfortable as staying in your own home (very comfortable). The location is just 10--15 minutes into downtown Galax but being in the peaceful setting was more than anyone could ask for. The two little pups enjoyed the large backyard (acre+) that they could run. The place as spotless and the beds were really comfortable. I would definitely and will stay again. The owners of this property keep this place in wonderful condition and exceptionally nice people.
