This hotel was the second in Gainesville we went to this night. Definitely better than the first but still in need of a remodel. Elevator would not call from the lower floor. Television did not work. Could not pick up any channels due to a faulty cable. Air conditioner did not function properly. We were burning up. Front desk help said she had gotten real good at fixing TVs and air. Obviously in need of some repairs and remodels.

This is based only on the room we stayed in. The shower would not turn, and tub would not drain. Pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable, bathroom door does not latch, and there was some sort of unfinished drywall repair going on in bathroom near floor and tub. What I saw of remaining property looked very nice. For an extra $50 because we have 2 small dogs, I expected a room iin good condition.

Room was not ready until 4:30pm. Checkout was still at 11:00 am. Good hotels over-accommodate when unexpected things happen. We waited patiently in the lobby and the cleaning staff did a thorough job but the front desk acted like this was to be expected. Many long-standing businesses in this town seems to be shuttering their doors and maybe there is a connection to lackluster service. Never a huge deal in todays world, but our "new normal" still doesn't compel patrons to return.

Hurt Back

The bed was hard and very uncomfortable. There was no bathroom vanity fixture , it was capped off , so the lighting was bad there and bad in the room also due to only 2 lamps for lighting. The desk chair was an old office chair with busted adjustments, it was worn and you could not raise or lower the seat . The tub water spicket also had a steady leak of water.

There was a lot of construction. When we were trying to find the hotel it was hard to drive through the construction at night. Maybe put some lights at the entrance where to enter. The beds were uncomfortable
