Retirement Home at the Grand Slam Cabin

We had a fabulous 2 months in the cabin. Ellijay and surrounding towns are quaint with great restaurants. The river at the cabin was incredible and I don’t know how I will sleep without the sound of the flowing water. For all of April and May there were zero mosquitoes. Unbelievable. The trails were great except for the poison Ivy but I am hugely allergic. The lakes in the area are incredible. For those that enjoy visiting wineries, they are plentiful and have amazing views.

Mountain Weekend

We had a blast. Enjoyed the cabin vert much. It was beautiful and had everything we needed! Was close to downtown Ellijay which was awesome.

Family favorite

All 5 kids said this is the best cabin we have stayed in out of the 3 times we have booked in the Coosawatee River Resort! They loved the basement level with the game room and tv room . The Christmas music was playing on the TV when we first entered upon check in , along with the Christmas tree lights being on -it was the perfect holiday welcome. The river was the absolute best part . It is not rushing nor is it deep. The sound of the water was so relaxing we didn’t want to leave. There are quite a number of steps as shown in pics but handrails all the way down so you feel secure. The fire pits in both levels was an added bonus. Although there are neighboring properties , it felt very secluded and quiet. Wish we could have stayed longer as always. You will love the cozy house . There is space for everyone , we were 7 total.

Nice, but……

The house was great! However, there are approximately 120 treacherous steps down to the river. Also, the drive to the house had many dangerous turns and hills. Of course we were in the mountains but a little clearer description would have been helpful.

Great time away from the city!

We are great friends with our neighbors and our kids have grown from littles to tween/teens together. Our lives are over scheduled and overworked so we decided to just keep Fall Break simple and easy! This house was perfect for our two families. The dads enjoyed chilling out and watching football all weekend, we mammas sat on the deck and sipped cocktails while putting together jigsaw puzzles. The kids would even pop out and join us periodically. The kids spent two days running up and down the creek hunting crawdads under the rocks. We all enjoyed the fire-pit and roasting marshmallows, and the hot tub was great. There were many pool tournaments in the basement between parents and kids - lots of great memories made! We went into Elijay one day for lunch and shopping and then the next day went to BJ Reese Apple Orchard. The tweens spent a crazy long time in the orchard/petting zoo- they definitely had more fun there than we expected. We parents enjoyed sitting on the picnic tables eating those heavenly little pies! This time away from the city and away from the business of life was exactly what we needed. We can’t wait to do this again! The Grand Slam was the perfect size, never felt crowded, easy to find a place so sit and relax. It was very clean and well stocked with pillows and blankets. I highly recommend this property!

Great place to relax

Great place to relax with family! Cabin location is beautiful and saw several deer. Be aware part of the drive is via gravel roads but otherwise cabin has all the amenities you need with restaurants and stores not too far if you need to venture out.

Great time

Beautiful house with all the things we could have possibly needed. The dual fire pits were super helpful as the walk to and from the river was a bit taxing for my parents, so at night, we used the one in the backyard. Plenty of space and clean bathrooms. We will certainly return.
