This hotel has good staff and is convenient for Princess Street and the tourist sites. The reason for the three star rating is the single rooms which Sheridan claim are good for the single traveller but are ridiculously small. They should be renamed cells though I think that monks would object to a room this same.
The location is extremely convenient, check in was SO fast and friendly, employees were so nice and welcoming, place smelled and looked amazing, breakfast was delicious, and the attached restaurant/bar was a wonderful place for food and drink. We are such big fans of this hotel!
I would definitely consider another (longer) stay at Four Points Sheraton in Haymarket, Edinburgh. I was only able to stay an overnight, but it is in my favourite area to stay while in the city. Convenient to trams and Waverley train station is about 15-20mins walk away. Very walkable area and lots to explore nearby. There's even a Tesco Express right next door! The hotel room itself was really comfortable and spacious (I stayed in Room 001). I was not able to explore any amenities or the restaurant (Amalfino), but staff were very good for check-in/out.
There was a huge gift bag full of treats and a lovely handwritten note welcoming us to our room during the Oasis concert. The service and product were top notch. We will be back next time we visit Edinburgh.
Absolutely first class. I had always planned to arrive early to settle in and work from the hotel until room was ready at 3pm to then quickly turn around and head to Oasis, thought I'd ask to see if I could check in early. No problem, they remembered my request and came to find me to tell me it was all good to go at about 11am. Ideal!!! Got chatting to the manager and the team and a nicer, more professional group of people you couldn't meet. Great location, quality room, exceptional service.
It added to an absolutely unforgettable trip. Yes it was expensive, but everywhere was with Oasis and the fringe happening simultaneously.
A huge thank you to all the team. Would 1000% stay again when I'm next in Edinburgh.
The hotel is well located for easy access by train or tram to High street and the Royal Mile. The breakfast is
a good option for a quick bite before heading out sightseeing for the day. The staff was kind enough to hold our luggage while we were on a tour as we returned to the hotel after.
Fantastic staff and great convenient location to all transportation hubs! The room was clean and well kept. I had a challenge with the step up shower/tub. I'm 6'1" and edge of the tub was above my knees. There are no hand rails, support so I'm stepping up into a wet slick surface. Getting out was a challenge. The way the 1/2 door tried to keep the water in just lets it run onto the floor. I used a full set of towels just cleaning up the water OUTSIDE the tub.
I wrote to the hotel and they responded instantly and apologized. They had nicely said I should have asked for a different room (valid point) but after 14 hours of travel, I wanted shower and bed. When you book, just be sure to talk about the tub if you have mobility challenges (or over the age of 50 like me!). Great location, great staff.
Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Slightly surprised the hotel was a mile from the city but transport links are brilliant. We were disappointed that there was only pizza on the menu on the day we arrived but the breakfast choice was great.
