The listing very clearly stated that there were laundry facilities on the premises, including photos of a laundry room. Because there were several legs to my trip, I was depending on that to get through the trip.
After I had checked in and gotten my family settled in the room, I went down to the front desk to ask where the laundry was. The front desk attendant told me there was no laundry at the hotel, and mentioned a laundromat down the street that he knew was closed for the day. When I pointed out the listing mentioned laundry, he told me he didn't know what I was talking about. The hotel had never had such a facility (and he implied it never would).
I resorted to washing some things in the sink and hanging to dry in the shower. But the bathroom did not have a fan -- which was weird! -- and nothing dried. Still, we made do.
Our room was very near the staircase at the end of the building and only on the second floor, so we had taken the stairs each time. On our last day, I ran down to the elevator bay to get some ice for our cooler. Lo and behold, there was a washer and dryer right there, still partially packed in their cardboard boxes. A quick ride up the elevator revealed two more landings with laundry machines, still packed in cardboard and not hooked up.
The front desk associate could have very easily told me, "The machines are new! I'm sorry they aren't hooked up yet," but instead, he chose to lie and belittle me.
