We usually love staying here and have had many great experiences, which made this visit especially disappointing. Things started off shaky when I called to confirm check-in time—the associate who answered (I believe his name was Chip) sounded irritated and inconvenienced, despite my being polite.
When we arrived at the room, we found dog food and fur in several areas. We don’t have a pet, so we notified the front desk immediately to ensure we wouldn’t be charged. The staff member did offer to send housekeeping, which was appreciated.
This hotel is usually quiet, but that wasn’t the case this night. Our neighbors returned from downstairs extremely intoxicated and spent much of the night slamming doors, playing music, and talking loudly. It made for a rough night of sleep.
Cleanliness was also lacking, particularly in the bathroom—the walls didn’t appear properly cleaned. On top of that, the added $25 fee felt frustrating, especially when it’s justified by a “free” morning fitness class for only one person. I’d rather opt out of the fee and pay for amenities I actually want. I understand long-term goals for the property, but nickel-and-diming guests isn’t the answer.
Lastly, the outdoor yard and fire pit weren’t cleared of snow, making them unusable (which are part of the amenities)
We’ve had too many good stays here to rule it out entirely, and we’re willing to give it another try—hoping this experience was the exception, not the norm.
