A luxurious and very spacious self-contained apartment located in the Gaeltacht village of Carna in Connemara. Near to beaches and offering wonderful lake, mountain, and countryside views. An ideal location for a friends or couples getaway. The apartment is just a short walk away from local shops, bars and restaurants, offering all the supplies you will need for your self-catering stay. Carna is a small coastal village in the Connemara Gaeltacht. Nearby beaches include Mweenish, Moyrus and Trá Mór, all within easy reach. The area offers a peaceful and tranquil stay, while immersing yourself in the heart of the Connemara Gaeltacht and its traditional culture. Old style Irish music, song and dance are traditional to the area and are a common occurrence in local pubs and bars. Saint Macdara's Island is located off the coast at Mace head. Macdara is the patron saint of fishermen, and each July an annual pilgrimage takes place on the island where a mass and a blessing of the boats takes place. Nearby villages include Kilkerrin, Recess and Roundstone. Clifden town is 30 minutes by car and Galway city can be reached within an hour. Popular activities in the area include lake and sea fishing, walking, cycling, and sailing. Many more activities are available in the wider region, including pony trekking, hill walking, boat trips, and much more.

The property is accessible via an exterior staircase of 18 steps which brings you on to the outside balcony, offering uninterrupted lake, mountain, and countryside views. Upon entering the apartment through sliding doors, you are met with the large open plan kitchen, dining and living room. The bright modern kitchen offers all necessary equipment including dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven and hob, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, microwave health grill and much more. The dining table seats 6 and is of very high quality. A comfortable leather/fabric mixed suite of furniture and large multi-channel TV, along with a fireplace with electric fire completes the living area. There are wonderful views from all windows, as well as the outside balcony.
The remaining accommodation includes 3 large en-suite bedrooms, a family bathroom, a laundry room, and a spacious hall area with comfortable seating.
All three bedrooms are very spacious with high quality luxurious furnishings and fittings. All have king size beds, TV, ample storage, full length mirrors, and desk space. All bedrooms have large fully tiled en-suite bathrooms with WC, shower and sink. Timber floors throughout all bedrooms.
The family bathroom includes WC, bidet, sink and bath. The laundry room is well equipped with steam press, iron, washing machine and tumble dryer. The spacious hall area is carpeted and offers comfortable seating - an ideal spot for sitting and reading.
The property is oil centrally heated throughout. Electricity, heating and wi-fi are included in the rental price. Towels and linens are provided. Short breaks available. A parking area and a large garden area are both available to guests.
A security deposit of €250 is required for this property. Our reservations team will arrange this with guests prior to arrival. Pre-authorisation of a payment card will be required.

Quiet retreat

We met another couple and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and setting. We were able to make day trips in the area and return to our retreat at the end of the day. The accommodations were clean, well maintained and our hostess was great. We would visit again.

Remote getaway

The apartment is spacious with 3 en-suite large bedrooms and a kitchen/living area ideal for gathering for meals and leisure time. The exterior views were vast and remarkable. It is a very quiet, peaceful area with great access to the Wild Atlantic Way

Great property, would return

Three spacious bedrooms, each with en suite, with a large landing/shared bathroom, washing facilities, and a large lounge/kitchen. Shops, a pub, and a pizza place are walkable and a fish and chips place is a few miles away. Would recommend the Pizza Max and the O'Flaherty's fish and chips. Parking easy. We used it as a base for trips to the Aran Islands, Killary Fjord, and Kylemore Abbey. Would absolutely stay again.
