Such a cozy stay! We loved the room and the location of the hotel is phenomenal. Even though it was off season, we found more than enough to do and the hotel’s proximity to everything was great! Definitely will stay here again if we ever come back to the area.

When making reservations for the Chalfonte hotel during the off season, be aware you are not staying in the actual hotel. The reservations are for their winter accommodations next door. It is a small hotel with staff available by phone. There was no daily maid service during my stay.It was clean and comfortable and quiet. Parking is on the street only.

The desk attendant told us that May and October are big times for weddings at the hotel and in Cape May. During our two-night stay in May, the hotel hosted weddings on both Friday and Saturday nights. The events drew a lot of people, and included loud music in the dining room until 10 PM (the bass beat reverberated in our room 2 floors up) and crowded gatherings on the historic porch that excluded us being able to enjoy it. Nevertheless, the hotel and staff are lovely, and Cape May in May is really nice. We understand why the hotel is popular for weddings but if we return we would avoid May or October.
