We only stayed for one night. Booked for 2 adults and 3 kids but when we arrived there were only 2 single beds and a queen. Bugs on the floor as there was a gap under the door. Would’ve loved to have used the pool, playgrounds spa as they looked so fun but we had to leave. Night ended up being fine as we could squish in the queen but luckily our kids weren’t big! Fine to stop over here.

The restaurant flamingo was over priced food wasn’t that appealing, some of the staff were rude. It’s so disappointing because it’s a beautiful resort with all the greenery and lush gardens.

Basic room had been renovated but carpet always feels grubby in the tropics The small minimart has been closed The tour desk has been replaced by a qr code on the bed head The main restaurant has been closed so it’s mainly burgers and pizzas The courtesy bus to town is long gone and there’s not much in walking distance and not great to be walking around at night Non smoking rooms and bar area but everywhere are smoking and vaping Just sad

Decent value for money. They could do a few things to make the experience a bit better such as replacing the rusting fridges, providing bigger coffee mugs, topping up clean tea towels and ensuring clothes racks are in rooms. We stayed for 7 nights so this was important but might get away with it for shorter stays

Family-Friendly Resort with Room for Improvement

We stayed at Cairns Colonial Club Resort for four nights. While the check-in was smooth, parking was easy, and the pools were great for the kids, the housekeeping was disappointing—only one of our two rooms was cleaned, and towels weren’t changed despite following the resort's instructions. Although we appreciated being allowed to use the resort facilities after checkout, overall, we expected much better service for a family stay.

This property is very outdated with a huge need for a remodel. The beds were very uncomfortable and saw two cockroaches during my stay.

The hotel was ok, nothing really wrong woth it but very dated and shabby in parts. Playground was good. 3 pools which would be gpod but the bottom was uneven so really easy to stub a toe or graze a knee

Great place to stay. Clean and tidy if you don’t look too hard. Close to most things. Only thing I would suggest is the menu at the cafe could have a bit more variety and when keeping the bar open at night you serve coffee as well for those that like to have a coffee at night as the coffee is good.over all i would recommend and personally i would stay there again.
