Last resort for VT game weekend

The positives: the bed was comfortable and the sheets appeared to be clean. Other than that, this was a very rundown room. Directly off the highway. Questionable furnishings. Lots of damage to the walls and carpet. It bills itself as a three star hotel, which I know refers to the amenities offered, however, if I could give this half a star, I would in terms of customer experience. We thankfully only had to use this room for sleeping, so we kept our time there as minimal as possible. It was dank, dark and depressing. We had to move rooms initially because of the smell of smoke. Recommend to avoid if at all possible.

Staff was great, very friendly and professional. Breakfast lady super friendly and considerate. Hotel conditions were terrible…mildew stained caulk on sink and in tub; dirty grout throughout; toilet not bolted to floor and leveled using wood shims; no pop up sink drain so anything dropped in sink goes straight down drain; no ‘do not disturb’ sign; TV quit working on day 2; towels smelled musty; no bathroom fan/vent; furniture and walls dinged and damaged; overall a filthy room.

The property is showing its age. My room had signs of an active ceiling leak and mold above the shower. Not worth the price I paid for staying there. Only good thing to comment on was the staff was friendly.

So we arrive at this huge motel at 3 PM on Friday afternoon. We are the only ones there, there are almost no other cars in the parking lot. Fist, they can’t find my Expedia reservation, even though I show him the reservation screen on the app They wind up giving me a room that’s reserved for a guy with the same name but different address and credit card number so I don’t know what was going on there. Next he puts us in a room that is as far away as the office as possible on the end of the building, which felt like it was about 10 feet from the interstate. The interstate noise was very loud all night, running the air conditioner was even worse. It woke us up every time the compressor came on. Finally, there was a big daddy long legs spider in the shower. All this for $280 plus.

Decent

Overall it's a decent place to stay. Good value with the free breakfast, especially with a family. The downside for me was they wouldn't give me one or two extra towels.

Th room we were given didn’t have a smoke detector. The electric wires had been capped off. A new room was provided upon request. The facility is in great need of regular upkeep. The door had duct tape across the bottom due to lack of door guard. Shower had tiles that were loose. We didn’t eat breakfast at the facility, however the person responsible was very kind and proved us with ice. It was somewhat convenient, however we did not receive $625 worth for two nights. It was quiet and was well-lit at night. Parking was plentiful.

Changed rooms 4 times. Some has worm out furniture and fittings, some had broken ones, then toilet got clogged. Had to use toilet near reception and later keys to another room was given after literally begging for 4 hours. Pathetic and terrible experience. Never coming back
