Very poor experience at the imperial. We visited as a family for my son’s birthday and were put in what felt like the last room in the hotel on the top floor at the very back of the building. The carpet was dirty, there was no hairdryer or even telephone in the room. When I complained at reception I was given a hairdryer and told I would be contacted with a voucher as compensation but nothing ever came despite emailing the manager as instructed by reception staff. Very poor as the standard was that of a bed and breakfast but was 3 times the price.

Very friendly staff especially in the palm restaurant. Love the buildings history. My only mild complaint is the time it takes to check in and check out but overall a very enjoyable stay.

Sadly hotel looking tired and surrounding areas of Blackpool need attention. Also there was no entertainment in the hotel later in the evening.

Overall the place is looking very tired , however it served our purpose. No information given about what is available in the hotel Reception staff very helpful. No decaffeinated coffee sachets available for the room , even when requested. Singers were ok , however Paul Stewart came across as arrogant .

Wouldn’t recommend

The hotel is dirty, it smells, has holes in the carpet and generally dirty, at breakfast the cutlery was dirty every single fork and doesn’t even have a coffee machine. I also messaged the hotel twice as my daughter has left her cuddly toy in the room and have been ignored

Grand hotel and great location

We have stayed at the imperial 3 times now, love the grandeur of the hotel and can imagine it was the best hotel in Blackpool when it was built. It still has a special feel about it, it is opposite the tram stop or easy ten minute stroll into the town centre, nice size rooms and bathrooms, pleasant bar area and with drinks packages that make it very competitive, first time we stayed there was no evening entertainment but last couple of times there has been a singer and bingo if you want it, plenty of parking which is chargeable but it’s handy and safe with cctv we really enjoy the breakfast menu, never tried the evening restaurant but have had a bar meal which has been good and excellent value, normally use the imperial if we are seeing a show at the winter gardens etc because it’s a good standard and competitive priced, always found hotel staff very pleasant and obliging as well, it’s now our go too hotel when we stay in Blackpool

I know the swimming pool isn’t listed on your website but it is on the hotel website even to the point of saying that you can use the pool if you arrive early and your room isn’t ready. The staircase was not hoovered during our stay of three nights as there were items of rubbish just left on stairs. The sides and corners were just thick with dirt/dust. The paintwork around windows etc was just ground in dirt. The room was so hot when we entered and we could not turn off the towel rail as there was no control. We had to open window, all of three inches and plug in a fan that was left in the wardrobe. To plug the fan in the television had to be moved, the fan had to be switched off whilst using kettle or hairdryer as only one plug near all facilities. The bed had a topper on it which rolled up in the night which was lumpy and uncomfortable. The person making the bed did not even straighten the under sheet or topper. We paid £20 per night extra because the hotel was supposedly dog friendly, there was not even a bowl for him in the room. Obviously we know there is normally a place set aside for patrons with dogs which was fine eating dinner in the bar area but for breakfast we were expected to sit in the lobby at low coffee tables with easy chairs, after complaining to a manager we were seated in the Derby room. This did not create a pleasant experience at all. The staff were generally unhelpful and miserable, no smiles hardly at all. We asked for a bowl of water for th
