Mountain retreat

Lovely house in a beautiful mountain setting. Every amenity you could need. House is immaculate, beautifully decorated and so welcoming and relaxing. Would recommend for anyone wanting to explore Asheville, Black Mountain, Chimney Rock area.

Cabin with a View

If you are looking for a great relaxing place for a few days, this should be your choice. It is off the main roads, roads are curvy and uphill, but what isn't in the Smokey's. We were looking for a few days to just relax and enjoy some quiet family time. This place did not disappoint. This cabin has the best view and breeze. Sitting on the porch in the mornings and in the hot tub in the evenings were fabulous. The cabin was well appointed with up to date techy type appliances (took us a while to figure the AC out). Everything about the decorations, instructions, and just the convenience of everything was perfect. The beds were extremely comfortable and made for a great nights sleep after hiking. Be sure and check behind the bathroom door before you leave. I left my makeup bag and the owners graciously found it and mailed it to me. There are kind people still in this world. I highly recommend a staying here when visiting the Biltmore or just getting away to the area!

Dreamy

This property is dreamy. The pictures online don’t do it justice. The views from the porch and hot tub are unbelievable. Michael and Bernadette are wonderful hosts. They even left us an anniversary note with chocolates, which was such a special touch. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time in Black Mountain as well as Asheville. We will definitely return.

Nice View.

Looking for respite and privacy, this property easily met our goals. The outdoor spaces are lovely. The property has trail access and beautiful scenery. The closest town, Black Mountain, is a perfect blend of charm and small town convenience. It is very close to the Billy Graham Training center which was our primary reason to visit the area. The Hummingbird House is a short drive to the sights of Asheville with easy access to the freeway. It is very clean with thoughtful amenities throughout. If you are traveling with folks who have any mobility issues, the upstairs bathroom may pose a slight challenge, Lovely, new, bright property that will not disappoint.

Clean with amazing views

The property was exceptionally clean and had everything we needed for our 6 night stay. The view from the porch were amazing. The owners were easy to communicate with and responded to any questions immediately. We had a quiet, peaceful, & relaxing stay in this home and neighborhood. We look forward to returning next year.

Paradise in the Mountains

This property has the most amazing views that are constantly changing. The home is beautifully appointed, unbelievably immaculate and the attention to detail is unrivaled. My husband and I had the most relaxing time there and the hot tub is just a wonderful bonus!

Wonderful mountain retreat

This home is a wonderful retreat from the chaos. We spent most of our time enjoying the gorgeous views from the porch--whether it was morning coffee listening to the birds or evening chats with family. I imagine the inside would be a cozy place to retreat with a book in less lovely weather, but it was just too pretty to be inside. The home is beautifully decorated with some adorable extra touches. The beds are really comfortable, and we all slept soundly. Communication with Michael was also excellent. Would highly recommend this home.

Pristine Home, Peaceful Setting

This home was the perfect setting for a relaxing mountain getaway for celebrating our wedding anniversary. The home is new and well equipped, including a kitchen with everything you need to make a fantastic meal - just stop to get your groceries on the way up. We saw lots of wildlife, including two bears. It’s a great home base for seeing sites around Around the area, which include numerous waterfalls, hiking trails, Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, and all the other activity the Asheville & Western NC area have to offer. The home owners are also very helpful and provide all the information needed to make your stay extra special. We would highly recommend this home to anyone needing a calming break from the daily grind!

Peaceful Weekend Retreat

My mom passed earlier in May and we needed a change of scenery. The home itself is warm and inviting and immaculate not to mention beautifully decorated. The beds were extremely comfortable. The views are breathtaking. We enjoyed seeing the wildlife just outside our windows. We saw a bear and a deer and wild turkeys. Not only did we feel closer to God but to our mom!

Highlights: the view from the house, ample outdoor deck/patio space, fire pit, nearby Catawba Falls, clean and new house and amenities, communicative/accessible host. Great for those who love the outdoors and want to be a bit secluded. Quite a few houses under construction in the private community, including the neighboring lot that seems to be just starting development; this area may be growing in popularity.

Perfect Spring Break

Wonderful Spring Break

We loved our break on Black Mountain. The house is fabulous and exactly as pictured. Just a word of caution, the drive to the house is all twisty (I heard, but my eyes were closed) beautiful scenery, but if you get queasy In the car, be prepared. Everything is about 25 minutes away but you can stay in area of the home for many, gorgeous hikes and make your own food at the house as the kitchen is cooking ready. The owners were incredibly responsive and friendly. The house and grounds were spotless other than the animals who visited at night. We had our kids and dogs with us and had plenty to do! Thank you.
