I loved the hotel building and decor. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We were given champagne at check-in and found Kilwin chocolates on our bed upon arrival.

Love the history and unique quality. Felt like home.

Old world character and charm. Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable room. Lovely town of Black Mountain.

We appreciated the smiles and friendly welcome upon our night time arrival. It was obvious the other guests were enjoying their time around the outside fire pit and in the bar area. Our room was conveniently located near the back parking lot, which made it easy to unload and get into our room, without too much of a hassle. Rooms were updated, and clean. Our bed was very comfortable. Not any extra 'frills' in the room, other than bottled water--which was fine with us. One observation we both noted was that there was no heated light or heated fan in the bathroom (On a cold morning, not having a little extra heat might be a bit uncomfortable). We did enjoy looking out our windows to see grass and trees just outside our room. The continental breakfast was basic, but, we were heading out to a brunch and just needed a couple cups of coffee to get us 'up and running'. Checkout was a breeze (Did enjoy the traditional/'ole' key system---no punching of codes or swiping a card across an entry pad). We most definitely will be back!

Nice clean and quaint hotel in a great easy to access location.

Everything was great except they do not have TVs in the rooms. That wasn’t necessarily a bad thing just something I wasn’t expecting.

Great, unique hotel with very accommodating staff. Helped us fix a snafu on our end. We were very pleased.

The staff was super nice! Great character and location was awesome--walking distance to Black Mountain shops and restaurants. Nice property--porch and backyard! Thanks to the kindness of the staff who helped us on our way to get home before hurricane Florence hit!!

Old hotel, no elevator for handicapped. Resturant not open noon or evening. Cannot adjust the temperature of your room.

My wife ad I spent two nights at The Monte Vista and found it pleasant, inviting and comfortable.

We just stayed one night on our way home from Charlotte. We found the rate to be high based on the amenities of the property and the room. Internet was in and out. Dining room food was really good!

Monte Vista is a real treat. The staff is friendly and the service impeccable. So much so that you feel like family coming home to the home you always wanted. It is a unique and special place that I will definitely come back to!

Staff was wonderful. Quaint hotel. Loved Monte. Very enjoyable to see him waundering around. Loved that town was a very short walk. The beds were a little firm and we couldn't get the free wifi but had a wonderful time and would love to come back again.

Just needed a place to rest overnight while visiting a relative nearby...Beautiful hotel but the 3rd floor was 'hot' when I there in the p.m. I threw open the window to let in some air but pests flew in (no screens). I imagine it would cost a fortune to put screens in all those windows but what a shame, mountain air is wonderful. Gardens were beautiful, missed catching some on the US Open Golf wrap up on TV (no TV)...not a bad thing though.
