Lucerne Lookout - Four Bedroom Cottage, Sleeps 8
Hidden away just south of Bancroft is picturesque, motorless, Lucerne Lake. Perched neatly at the south end of the lake is the aptly named Lucerne Lookout, a cottage made for a family that wants to enjoy a week of quiet relaxation, swimming, and good times at the waterfront. The cottage will take you a little by surprise, much in the same way the Tardis does - it's bigger inside than it looks. A split-bungalow design (walkout to deck/patio on both levels), it provides plenty of space for a group to enjoy time together as well as places to retreat for quieter times. The lower level features 2 bedrooms with lake views as well as laundry and a 4-piece bath. As a bonus, there is a media/sitting room here - a perfect spot for a rainy day or late-night movie. Upstairs is where this cottage really shines. Two large bedrooms as well as the kitchen, dining and living areas adorn this level, and the living and dining rooms have large windows with which to enjoy the nicest lake views of all. The kitchen has all you need for cottage cooking and your group will enjoy the lakeview dining indoors as well as stepping outside to enjoy a burger or hot dog offered up by the family grill master. Down the stairs to the waterfront, you'll find a spacious dock and a small beach area - offering both shallow and deeper water swimming. A canoe will let you paddle leisurely around the lake, and you won't be bothered by motorized craft here - just the ripples your own paddles create. A fire pit adjacent to the cottage lets you enjoy the eternal tradition of the evening campfire. A ghost story and a couple of roasted marshmallows are the perfect end to a day in cottage country. Out and about? Bancroft is just 10 minutes away and is a wonderful little town that offers all you will need in terms of shopping, restaurants (a brew pub, pizza, Chinese are all options), the Village Play House, an art gallery. ice cream (we've always been partial to Kawartha Dairy but there are a few options) and book and thrift stores. As cottage country towns go, Bancroft has something for everyone. We think Lucerne Lookout will be a place your family will build some fabulous memories!

This cottage was as advertised: like the Tardis it is bigger on the inside! We had a fabulous stay here, swimming, paddleboards, cooked some great meals. The screened in porch downstairs was a nice added bonus. Fantastic cottage, and attentive hosts. We would definitely like to stay here again!
Went away for a fall weekend with my family to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday. The cottage was the perfect getaway - right on the lake with a beautiful dock, and the cottage had everything you needed to feel right at home. Also, being only 15min away from Bancroft was very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything was perfect. Too many instructions though!
We had a excellent timeMy entire family loved it We all experienced the paddle boards for the first time my grandson was an expert on it and he gave us all a lesson on how to get up on it easily The guys caught some fish alsoThe water mat was so much funThe beds were comfy and the kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials Overall a great time for all of usUnfortunately there was a power outage on our last night so that was a crinkle in the last nightWe would definitely stay at your cottage again
The swimming is exquisite; the lake quiet, clear and lovely. The cottage is really comfy- great furniture for relaxing and lots of different hang out spaces which makes it good for multiple people who sometimes need some “alone time”. We will be back! One thing that would be good to have is a space outside to store garbage until the dump opens. Given the dump is only open Friday to Monday, that Monday to Friday stint means we have to keep garbage in the cottage. Not great. An animal proof outdoor garbage would be a really good idea. Otherwise all good!
