Don’t stay, book a hotel closer to shore

It wasn’t my best stay. I honestly was my worst. I hated every minute, I hated the wait for the hotel shuttle waste of 30 mins waiting everytime you need to go down or up the hill. I was the first off the boat because I had just had ankle surgery and first to call the shuttle for 1 adult 2 kids, waited over a hour while they picked up everyone but us telling me “opps my bad I just picked up 6 people thinking it was you.” Once we got up the hill after paying $20 for a taxi because the hotel shuttle wouldn’t . Once up the hill the hotel was under construction. Never would I book a hotel under construction in a beautiful island , it Looked horrible the Hotel had everyone in a line waiting out the building to check into rooms. I ended up crying outside and trying to figure out how to cancel this hotel and change it, they wouldn’t allow me to. It honestly was my worst trip to Catalina and I have been over 100x and I will never I Repeat Never will I stay here again unless someone figures this situation out after ruining my whole trip something. This place used the be okay now it’s just run down and horrible.

Very disappointing stay, not worth the price Our room was extremely dirty: the sheets and blankets had obvious stains, including blood on the blanket and dark spots on the pillows and sheets. It was clear they hadn’t been changed before we arrived. The internet was so slow that I had to use my phone’s hotspot the entire time. The TV was outdated with very few channels. One of the biggest issues was that the hotel was under construction, which was not communicated beforehand. The lobby and advertised amenities were unavailable. Only the pool and a small restaurant were open. The online photos are misleading because they show facilities that you can’t actually use right now. The location is far from Avalon and the free shuttle is very unreliable. When we arrived, we waited over an hour for the shuttle but it never came, so we had to walk up a steep hill with our luggage for about 20 minutes. We paid a high price expecting a full-service hotel with all the amenities shown online, but we got none of that. I do not recommend staying here until they finish construction and improve their housekeeping and services.

The gym was really dirty. The water cooler had mold on it and the floor all around was really dirty. Equipment was dusty. Our shower smelled moldy and there and the grout was dirty. The room was ok and pleasant enough. The staff were nice. It's pretty far from town though so you have to take the shuttle or walk about 15 minutes into town.

First I would like to say that without the staff going out of their way the stay would have been horrible . We asked numerous times for our room to be cleaned and it never happened . The room ac made the room smell musty and management did nothing. And when we asked for towels we ended up having to get them ourselves . It was clear that there was not enough staff to manage all of the rooms and none of our complaints were taken seriously . The waitstaff were great but it was clear that management doesn’t care . It’s too bad because we won’t be returning here on our next trip to the island .

It’s inland from the main beach, but nice to be away from the hustle and bustle. The restaurant is convenient to have onsite and the pool is nice to have.

I loved the friendly staff from the moment we arrived! The front office team were accommodating and went the extra mile for us. The shuttle driver, Jose made us feel safe and set the tone for the chill, friendly vibe on the Island Thanks for making me and sis in laws 55th birthdays a lot of fun!
