Nice home. Family run. Very kind, and hosts go out of their way to accommodate you. Food was tasty and welcoming. Facilities are nice. However keep in mind that this location is a bit remote.

We recently stayed at here that left us feeling frustrated and let down. While we understand that short-term rental owners need to be mindful of costs, this should not come at the expense of guest comfort and safety. Upon our arrival, we were greeted with a room that was far too cold, especially as the outside temperature was only 10°C (53°F). Despite myself being under the weather, the owner was unwilling to increase the heating beyond 22°C (71°F), even when we requested a more comfortable 25°C (76°F). I was suffering from a fever, shivering, and coughing, and the cold room only worsened my conditions. We ultimately decided to leave after just one night, even though we had paid for two nights, as staying any longer would have likely made me sicker. Additionally, we encountered several other issues that made our stay unpleasant. The presence of bugs in the room was particularly disturbing, especially when they landed on our toothbrush and luggage. The shower had an incredibly weak water flow, barely more than a mist, making it difficult to get clean. Our room was on the third floor with no elevator, which meant we had to carry our luggage up slippery marble stairs—a challenging experience. We were also disappointed to find that the dinner we were supposed to have, at a cost of 25 euros per person, was canceled without any prior notice. We don’t recommend this place to anyone else.

I can’t say enough good things about the family that runs Casa Dona and the property. They went above and beyond for our stay. From recommendations on what to do, traditional Portuguese dinners being served; cooked by the family and when my wife and I couldn’t get a taxi in the morning they drove us to the train station. The property was beautiful, clean and quiet.

Amazing hospitality!

I came as a solo traveler. The stay was quite, safe, comfortable, and clean. I arrived and did not realize the proximity to nearby resturants, for someone without a car. The owners were very kind they made me a salad and sandwich for dinner that evening. There was a continental breakfast included. They even arranged trabsportation the next morning for me. I am extremely grateful for their hospitality and kindness. You can tell how much they care about their property and guests. I would highly recommend.

Staying at the Casa Doña Edite Guesthouse is an amazing experience. It is a 15 minute drive from Pinhão but truly worth it. Our room was very clean and comfortable and I think the pool view rooms may be best. Bathrooms are large with an excellent shower. A sitting common area is available for use if required. The entire building is near new and aesthetically pleasing. Breakfast was a nice selection and don’t miss out on the homemade jams and cakes. They are delicious. The family that owns this stay are exceptional as they attend to every detail. Eduardo speaks excellent English and has a great knowledge of Portuguese food and customer service. The highlight of the stay is the Portuguese home cooked dinners that are offered in the guesthouse dining room each night. 4 courses of utter home cooked deliciousness. Simply the best food we had in Portugal. Thank you to our new found friends in Vilarhino de Cotas.
