If you’re a
college hoops fan about to get swept up in madness of March, Las Vegas may offer your best alternative bet
for courtside action. These Las Vegas hotels boast three of the best and most well-known betting arenas in this city built upon
gambling.

Las Vegas Hilton, 3000 Paradise Road

You go to a
sports book to watch those games you’ll never see at home without the NFL
channel or the NBA channel, or without flying to some far-flung city and
buying an expensive ticket. But with the stadium-style seating of the Hilton,
and massive screens everywhere showing every game imaginable, it’s just like
being there.

Cocktail
waitresses are there even before you call. When you get the urge, you can walk
up and place $20 on the Packers, and before the end of the day, double or
triple — or lose — the money.

It’s like
being at home with your own comfy seat, but when you want to share in the glory
or agony of sport, and betting, there are dozens more all around with whom to
commiserate.

Caesars Palace, 3570 Las Vegas Blvd. South

For sheer
viewing pleasure, this Las Vegas hotel is the place to go. Caesars Palace has a dozen massive plasma screens, another half-dozen 15-foot screens, one TV
that is 20-by-30 feet, and a huge board that flashes the changing lines.

But it’s
not just the flowing drinks, the camaraderie with fellow money winners or the
majesty of spending at least one Sunday ina place where you can watch all the
football action at the same time.

Caesars has all that, but it also has the history — Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard and who can forget the footage of Evel Knievel breaking every bone in his body as he jumped the Palace fountains?

MGM Grand Hotel and
Casino
, 3799 Las Vegas Blvd.

MGM
Grand offers a more high-energy environment in its Race & Sports Book.

Each
of the 49 seats on the main floor boasts its own 15-inch television. Additionally,
it’s got 36 60-inch plasma screens and eight 42-inchers.

It
also has four second-level "skyboxes" where eight to 10 VIPs can enjoy privacy,
cutting-edge electronics, and a bird’s-eye view of the casino action.
