First of all this is a Chinese hotel so u need to manage your expectations. The room is well fitted and clean but of cos the rooms reek of smoke (regardless non smoking or otherwise). But for that price you are paying - it’s decent. Walking distance to the custom and right at the edge of Lian Hua road .
Due to the high room rate in Macau during weekends, we in total of 5 people, decided to stay in Zhuhai for our accomodation. Guangdong Hotel is one of the properties of China Travel Services and rated as a 4 star hotel which is quite a large scale hotel in Zhuhai. It took around a 10 to 15 minutes walk from the Border Gate. The whole check-in process is smooth and efficient. As we are having 5 people staying together, we have booked an apartment which located just opposite to the hotel main building. After our check-in, we were instructed by the hotel staff that we need to go up to 2/F and cross the link bridge to take the lift. The environment is very quiet and throughout our stay, we haven't seen other guests. It seems that there are not many people staying in here. The room is very spacious with a home feel like. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms in here. Generally speaking, the environment is clean and acceptable. However, may be due to a long term vacancy of the room, one of the room has a very bad smell. Luckily, we got our own air cleaner spray. And the drainage system is one of the bathroom is not too good making the water staying in the bath tub. Overall, with such a low room rate, this is considered as a good place for a group of people and friends to stay and accomodate.
I stayed at the Guang Dong for one night after coming over from HK via the new HK-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. It's in a convenient location near the Gong Bei port area. The room was a good size, comfortable, and quiet. Wifi is included. There's no included breakfast but it's not necessary as there are many inexpensive options close to the hotel. I found reception to be polite and helpful. They were able to communicate in English with me. This is a great place at a reasonable price for a quick stay.
Our friends booked this hotel for us based on location to Macau and the price. We are a family of four and have shared a single room in other hotels where there were two queen beds. This hotel only offered 2 single beds. This would not have been a problem if we were made aware at the check in. It was obvious there was 4 of us as they took our passports as ID , so i think at this stage the check in personnel should have made us aware that there were only 2 single beds. After travelling from Hong Kong by ferry and waiting for 45 mins for a taxi it would have been nice to get into the room and relax but instead we had to try and organize alternative accommodation. We were told there were no other rooms available with bigger beds but did offer an apartment at an extra cost. I asked would we get a discounted rate on a second room but was told it would cost the same. We agreed on a second room. The positives are the rooms are nice and clean and have good facilities, the hotel pool was nice and the kids enjoyed relaxing there. The location of the hotel is also good. Would i stay here again and the answer is probably yes.
My friend and I had a 3-day trip in Macau and Zhuhai in March. We stayed in Macau for 1 night and then moved to Zhuhai for the second night. We chose this hotel because it is very closed to a big shopping mall and a big massage place. It is also not far from the border (around 15mins on foot). We paid HKD$4XX for a twin room which I thought was a bargain comparing with the high hotel prices in Macau. You get what you pay for and don't expect too much. My friend and I were both happy with our room although it was quite small. We were fine with the small room as we only had 2 small backpacks. But if you are traveling with a lot of luggage, you might want to book a bigger room or consider another hotel. Our biggest concern was hygiene, and I can assure you this hotel is very clean. This is just a mid-range hotel so don't expect any service. Of course they help you check-in and out but that's pretty much it.
We arrived in Zhuhai , China and was staying at another hotel, "overseas Chinese Hotel", But that is another story. My brothers, sister and my wife all were directed by our senior brother to a Revolving Restaurant for lunch on top of Guang Dong Hotel across from our hotel. Upon arriving at the top, we found out it was a revolving restaurant. It was a clear day and we were able to see all of Zhuhai and across the bay to Macau too! The menu was either buffet or al la carte. So all of us went for the buffet luncheon. And, it was offered in both Asian and Western cuisine. Dim sum, fried rice, noodles, etc. fried seafood, clams, salmon, etc. desserts, beverages, etc.. on and on. We had a wonderful meal along with white wine and a delightful view of a city to boot! The price for this buffet luncheon was about $999 RMB or foreign exchange of $150 USD at the time we were there! It was for all five of us eating adults! Very reasonable in November!
Well located close to the Gongbei Immigration border. Nice front staff, friendly service. The rooms were comfortable, but the corridor had a cigarette smell. It would help if specific floors were reserved for smokers.
The hotel is conveniently located 15min walking distance from Gongbei border (拱北口岸) and many restaurant nearby including bar street (10-15 walk). We stayed at a 3 bedroom apartment which was surprising clean and large. We had a nice partial view of the Bay and the living room is very large. There is free wifi provided. The beds are typically hard in China which I don't really like. The shower pressure is weak. There is a revolving restaurant on the roof but we didn't try. But we tried the 2/F Chinese Restaurant for morning tea (Dim Sum) which wasn't bad and the price is reasonable. We do recommend this hotel if you wanted conveniently located in Zhuhai.
We stayed at the hotel apartment building which are across the side street. The hotel apartment is spacious. The bed is comfortable and clean. The space of toilet a bit small but the water pressure strong. The free wifi was stable. No tableware at the kitchen. The hotel located near Gongbei. Many shops and food to eat nearby. Free parking on site for hotel guest.
It was disappointing - the hotel apartment had a kitchenette, but there were no kitchen amenities to cook or even heat food. There were no plates, bowls, forks or pots. There was a big fridge, and also a cooking stove (not working), as the stove is not hooked/linked up to gas or electricity. Poor kitchen amenities for what it is advertised as. Might as well just call it a hotel room, rather then apartment! The hotel apartment was spacious and location was central, but the hall way to the apartments were smoky and smelly. Not healthy for family with kids.
