the property does not provide quality service. The breakfast is measured. The bed covers are minimal to just cover the top of the bed. The air conditioner was permanently stuck on 19 degrees. It was very cold. And we asked for assistance with the proprietor coming and saying he will fix it the next day. We are still waiting. NOT IMPRESSED

Perfect Location

Perfect location across from the Cloth Hall and 5 minutes walk from the Menen Gate. Walkable from the station. An extensive breakfast selection is provided as part of your room rate. Staff are very friendly and helpful with suggestions for activities and places to eat and drink. Highly recommended

Property is in a good location - very walkable and convenient. However, the cleanliness and service from staff is quite poor. When I initially checked-in, the receptionist just handed me the room key WITHOUT checking my passport - she just assumed that I was the correct person. When I entered the room, the shower facility was not clean and there was a USED towel still hanging on the rack. Told the receptionist and was offered a different room which was slightly cleaner. Another issue with this property is security as the main door is left unlocked 24/7 and the front desk is left unattended most hours of the day. Would not recommend staying at this property.

Good value hotel in great location.

The staff, especially the lady manager, worked so hard, from early morning to evening to keep things on track, it is a minor disappointment that the bar closed so early, but understandable without employing more staff. Our room was smaller than the one we had the previous year, although we thought we had booked using the same criteria, with only one small window set high up the wall, so no way to look outside. This didn't matter too much, as we used the room to sleep/shower in and were out most of the days. The room with fridge and safe, was clean and comfortable with good bathroom facilities. Strange that as the previous stay, there was no soap/handwash provided. Breakfast was excellent with hot and cold choices, cereal, pastries, breads etc. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't always sit in our group of four as the 'four tables' were selfishly taken by individual couples (not the hotel's fault). The hotel's location could not be bettered, situated on the main market square, within a hundred yards of numerous bars and good restaurants, and a 5 minute walk to The Menin Gate. I would readily stay here again.

This is a great hotel, in a great location, with a great breakfast. I'd have loved to give it 5*. But the staff were some of the most unpleasant I've come across in 25 years of travel. Maybe I got them on a bad day, but compared to the other five hotels I stayed at in Belgium, this was like night and day. They just didn't seem to like their guests. Quite bizarre, to be honest.
