I really liked the convenience of this property. Just 2 small gripes. There was no hairdryer there and although it had coffee and tea making facilities, there was no teaspoon. As I do not carry one and there was no staff to ask for one, this was disappointing. Otherwise good.

Central location

Minster hub was clean & very comfortable, the loft room was large & had a nice sofa & TV. The only concern was the flooring in the bathroom which was badly fitted and sharp in places on bare feet. Great location, very central for the minster & many places of interest. Lovely.

Good find in York

excellent location, well placed for everything in York. joining instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the room was very comfortable and clean. The TV played up quite a bit so had to cast from my phone -using the premises excellent limitless wi-fi. Umbrellas are provided and extra tea/coffee etc is left by the inner door, all very good. The only issue was that the loo seat cover was broken and fell to the floor with a crash on first use! Then again thats hardly an issue really. All in all good value and would/will use the property again

Great location, comfort ok, not for light sleepers

We stayed 2 nights over a weekend, location is brilliant for sightseeing and overall the room was good and clean - perhaps in the bathroom there were a few stray hairs in the corner. There is NO RECEPTION, you can an access code for keys, so look out for an email as it can arrive in Spam box! I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to people with mobility issues (narrow steep staircase, no lift) or who are light sleepers. There is a reasonably busy road next to it and a restaurant beneath, we were right above it and could hear the music. They finish with noises by midnight but early nights sleep may be hard. There is also a water pump system both for sink and the toilet which can be quite noisy when you use water and you can hear noises from staircase. The mattress wasn’t very comfy, quite hard. There is a fridge and tv in the room which is convenient but the fridge makes some extra noise. It’s a good place for a short trip if you don’t have any sleeping issues!

customer service atrocious. Tried to call but unable to contact. Left message stating unable to come at time as mother was in intensive care - actually died next day- all I got in return was text stating “read terms and conditionsl. Yes I knew it was non refundable but had hoped at best to swap dates. Even a no sorry that’s not possible but so we are sorry to hear about your mother would have sufficed. Shocking response

Nice but noisy

Stayed in a king room at Zills which was clean and comfortable with everything you could need. Staff very helpful. Location was excellent with lots of shops and bars close by and short walk into city. Only fault is the noise of the street which is very loud and constant. The rooms all have wooden floors which again is extremely noisy especially from above.

Never again

The hotel room was tiny, barely enough room to walk around the bed. The bathroom was tiny and the shower only had 2 settings, scolding hot or frezzing cold with no water pressure what so ever. If you plan on staying there on Sunday expect to hear bells go off starting at 7am and continuing ever hour until 9am when they do not stop. Left the hotel at 10am and the bells were still going I would never stay here again. Horrible and a waste of money.
