The service here was incredible. From the front desk to the bellman to the waitstaff. Everyone was helpful, everyone was friendly. Room was small for 4 people, but we made it work. Location across from the York Minster was perfect.
Called in here for a coffee after a busy day (mainly at the railway museum) - a lovely hotel - fab location- prices seemed reasonable- nice atmosphere - although a brief visit and we were no residents it was great to relax read the complimentary newspapers & chill for an hour - will definitely return- highly recommended
This is a very nice, upgraded Best Western Hotel. The room was very spacious and although not luxurious or completely updated (décor), it was clean and large and had all the modern amenities. Cable TV, wifi, tons of electrical, very nice bathroom, safe, sitting area, desk, etc.. and the bed was large and fairly comfortable. The location is terrific, right next to York Minster. We also walked to the train station with our luggage in tow after checking out, and it was a very easy walk. Straight shot up the street, not even 10 minutes to get to the station. Easy to walk around town. All in all, a really positive stay. I would recommend. On a side note, the restaurant food was hit or miss. The soups were good, and my husband's entrée was good, but my entrée was almost inedible (chicken tikka masala - don't get it...) But that wouldn't deter me from staying here again. I definitely would.
We stayed at Dean Court for its closeness to the Minster, in which I was due to be spending most of the weekend, and because of my Diamond Select status, I was able to charge two nights against my loyalty points. The standard of the hotel and staff was exceptional, with magnificent service from Frank, who dealt with parking and retrieving our car, taking us to our room and looking after our luggage. We had dinner, a snack lunch, and cream tea with a guest, and all was as good as you would expect. My Wi-Fi problems were probably more down to my phone than the hotel, and the duvet was rather heavy, but otherwise, a perfect weekend.
What a hotel we have passed this hotel a lot over the year but booked in with friends for a weekend birthday party and the hotel was great the food first class the whole weekend we felt relaxed and treated to first class service just a pity the valet parking did not cover motorcycles but would not have let him park it
Stayed three very enjoyable nights at this hotel. Room 301 was huge and overlooked the front as we requested. Weather was cold so AC not needed. Keeping window open a little kept a comfortable temperature. The street has little vehicle traffic, but it’s across a little park where people tend to congregate, and since we kept the window open we could hear them until late at night, though not a problem for us. The elevator is teeny tiny and only meant for two persons that love each other very much ;) Coffee maker was very convenient and supplies, including tea and chocolate were replenished daily. The room had a mini fridge. The location couldn’t be any better with the York Minster next door, and the Shambles a few blocks down. We walked everywhere. On the other side of the hotel is a Catholic Church and between both churches the bell ringing sometimes got to be a little much. But we were told they had a new bell ringer who needed to practice!
Just returned from our 3rd visit this year.Everything was great once again. Many thanks for the lovely refurbished room which we were allocated.Would not like to stay anywhere else in York.We will be back in April.
Me and my girlfriend had a great stay, couldn’t have asked for anything more, amazing hotel, nice helpful staff, great location and great value for money. I booked the wrong type of room but this was sorted with no problem whatsoever. Will deffo be visiting again! Can’t recommend this hotel enough! If you’re thinking of stopping in a hotel in York, choose Dean Court you won’t regret it!
Stayed here for our ruby anniversary, was too early to check in when we arrived but was able to leave our bags and start sightseeing straight away, when we went back later we were shown to our room and the suitcases had been taken up by the staff, we had what was described as a small room on the second floor , it had a great view looking out at the minster the room was modern and big enough for our needs with tea/coffee facilities with biscuits and water in the fridge replenished daily, rooms and hotel in general were cleaned to a high standard breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice we also had an evening meal one night which was very nice. All staff reception, cleaners and waiting on staff were very friendly and accommodating, they even phoned me on arriving home to tell me the cleaner had found some 👓 in our room which we had searched high and low for but couldn’t find so shows how though the cleaners are😂 even arranged to post them on to us, best placed hotel in york for all attractions would def recommend a stay here,
We had a tiny cosy room (number 31) and although small it had everything we needed including a large bath. There was no view from the room but all of York is walkable from the hotel. We also enjoyed people watching as we ate breakfast over looking the Minster. Dinner in the restaurant was lovely we had lamb and sea bass . The staff were great ,friendly without being obsequious. A card for our 30th anniversary was a lovely touch. I highly recommend this hotel.
