Another great stay in this superbly appointed hotel. The view of York Minster is stunning. Delicious breakfast and a lovely renovated bedroom. Only reason for not giving five stars is the size of the bedroom. We paid for a standard double and I felt the size was more cosy.
Second time here and again fantastic stay central location beautiful hotel excellent staff rooms with stunning views of Minster just a totally relaxing stay took my daughter and her boyfriend and they realized what a great hotel this is go you will not be disappointed a credit to the best western chain look forward to seeing you next year
Booked this Hotel for an over night stay on a Christmas Shopping trip with my Mum. From checking in to Checking out the service was excellent. Breakfast was lovely and we had a lovely room. I certainly would recommend this Hotel for friendly staff and location.
Stayed here for two night DB&B 20-22nd November. Have stayed before and am pleased to report it is still an Excellent Hotel. Reception very friendly and welcoming, smooth check in. Went for one of the larger rooms and it did not disappoint. Very large comfortable bed and two lovely comfy chairs to relax in. TV a good size if a little wonky (!) on it's all wall brackets, nice tea and coffee selection and a fridge so you could pick up some proper milk. As with a lot of the rooms there is a little street noise but nothing too intrusive, the price you pay for such an outstanding location in the heart of York. Full view of front of Minster. Note the bells stop at night and restart at 8AM, good alarm call. Bathroom well appointed and all very clean. Food in restaurant is very good and good value. Breakfast cooked choice are great and there is the usual cereal etc. Though the cold meats and cheese is now an ask for option and less pastry choice than previously. Service is very quick, efficient and friendly, hotel was busy but did not feel it. York itself is fantastic, though am biased. This visit was for St Nicholas Fayre and the stalls were very interesting, proper local crafts, the city looked very pretty in all its Christmas lights. Minster is a must, also recommend Barley Hall for a bit of Tudor, Clifford tower for city views. Didn't do castle museum this time but they have a Victorian Street which is very nice at Chritmas. The normal shops are also very good. Dean Court puts you right in the centre by the Minster. It's a short walk from Station. All very good, will stay again if come to York.
Had a very good set menu - very tasty and lots of roasted veg - down in the McLeod suite - the main waitress was lovely too - good giggle on small dance floor later but the DJ although played some good songs they weren’t for a party night and doesn’t play requests (Just my opinion)
Back in February of this year we said we visited this hotel for a drink with the view to staying. This was our intention but we weren't able to fulfill that promise till some 9 months later. From the moment Rebecca took our telephone booking we knew we had made the right decision. Our room (number 11 ) was both spacious & well presented, the standard of housekeeping is to a very high standard. The bathroom again is spacious & has a monster of a shower above the bath. In our room dressing gowns were provided, tea & coffee making facilities as well as a iron. A little gift of 2 pots of jam were on the bed a nice touch. However it's the staff that make this establishment really special from breakfast to late night drinks nothing is too much trouble. Would we return well that's simple as we've already booked a break in January. Our thanks go to the management & staff for making this a truly memorable break, it really is appreciated.
We stayed here on an impulse as there had been a mix up with our booking at another hotel and we are so glad we did. Valet parking is offered which is brilliant when stopping in the centre of York. All the staff were friendly and efficient and check in was easy. Fabulous breakfast in a lovely restaurant overlooking the Minster! We hope to stay here again soon, we loved it!
My husband and I have just returned from a 3 night stay at the hotel. It was very central and a convenient base to stay while exploring North Yorkshire. I thought the parking was a little expensive although it was very well organised. Breakfast was amazing with everything you could wish for. The room had everything we wanted including a fridge and a safe. My only complaint would be that the room was incredibly hot and we found it hard to sleep although at the back of the hotel it was extremely quiet.
Lovely hotel location but noise from function room and terrible breakfast service on first day was not to impress us or want us to book again. The staff could not move us as fully booked with a very noisy wedding party. The function room was right below our room and I can guess the lady that sang ABBA well into the early hours wouldn't be at the disappointing breakfast the next morning.
Dean’s Court Hotel is a refurbished Victorian building just steps from beautiful York Minster. Some rooms have partial views. The old structure imposes limitations. We had a “Deluxe Double” so small it was barely inhabitable by two people with suitcases. Nevertheless, it was beautifully furnished and clean, with a comfortable queen bed, well-stocked tea tray, mini-fridge and a good bathroom. Although there are lifts and ramps, the building is not fully accessible because here and there one does have to climb a few steps. Service can be a little erratic. I have the impression that some of the friendly staff members are still learning the ropes. The restaurant is more than acceptable and the bar is downright cozy. Given the location and overall quality, I would definitely stay here again.
