Amazing location, great room, great breakfast, and incredibly convenient parking. One of my favourite hotels I’ve stayed in, it made my visit to York so much better.

Hotel is in a fantastic location for the Minster and other city attractions. Our room was lovely, comfy, clean and lots of character. The only issue was the temperature and lack of air con. The hotel have kindly put one unit and a cool air blower in the room which was great during the day but too loud for sleeping so turned off at night. Slept with the windows open so sleep was disrupted due to city noise. Other than that great stay. Staff very helpful and polite.

Very good location in center of York. Great view of York Minster. The family room is spacious for family of 5. Remodeled bathrooms with good shower facility. The only downside is uneven hardwood floor makes noises. And less sound isolation. Mattress is too bouncy.

Not a bad hotel, party revellers spoiled the trip

Aircon vent pipe stuck outside through open single glazed window, not a good start, party revellers still having a blast in the street below at 3am also didnt help matters, whilst staff where working flat out reception isnt permanently staffed at certain times. Bathroom is a little small sink crammed in a corner, overall for the price just ok

Great location!

We enjoyed our stay at the Dean Court hotel. The location can't be beat! Walkable to everywhere and right next to the minster. A delicious breakfast was included as well. The room was comfortable and spacious for our family of 3. The staff were friendly and helpful. They even stores our bags for part of the day. The only negative was the moisture in the bathroom. There was black mold on the ceiling in a few places.

A Yorkshire treat.

Room very clean / bed comfortable / Food excellent though the breakfast menu was a little reduced from what I had read online e.g. lack of fish items (smoked haddock,etc.). The staff were very friendly and helpful. A most enjoyable stay.

Great stay

The hotel is in a great central location for walking. I woman at the front desk was just absolutely amazing. Friendly and helpful and a great sense of humor. Her name was Bee for short. The room was nice. The interesting part was the hotel is older and is not equipped with AC. They put portable AC units in the room and vent them thru the window. They also put an oscillating fan in the room as well. I was curious as to how this was going to play out. It went great. The room stayed cold. I mean cold not cool. We stayed in the summer months. The room was spacious, and bed was comfortable. So even with the window open slightly to allow venting from the AC we didn't get any street sounds up into the room. The area is quiet at night. No issues at all and they had black out curtains as well. Side note. The elevator is super small. 1 person and maybe 2 pieces of small luggage can fit in it. I had no issue with it buy my wife didn't care for it so used the stairs. No big deal it all. I personally thought it was somewhat interesting on a good note.

The location can't be beat--right by the cathedral but not unduly noisy--and our room was on the street side. The staff was pleasant but a bit inattentive, which perhaps cost them a few drinks we didn't order. The food was mediocre. I like older hotels, so it doesn't bother me when the upgrades are a bit wonky. Our room had a slightly odd air-conditioning solution with a tube through the open window leaving a bit of a gap , but it worked just fine with no bugs coming in. Unfortunately it was right about the place where the staff would go to smoke, so several times a day we'd have 10 minutes of nicotine smell. I'd previously stayed at Grays Court around the corner which is luxurious in service and fabulously quirky in rooms. Deans Court is not in their league, but it's a good lower cost alternative if location and some charm matter to you.
