Helmsley is also a paradise for walkers where the Ebor way, Cleveland Way and Inn Way meet. With a great reputation for its hospitality, Helmsleys market square is a meeting point for locals, walkers and cyclists alike. This beautiful Yorkshire town has many independent shops, cafés and eateries including a Michelin star restaurant in the nearby village of Harome 2 miles away, castle ruins, a walled garden and café, Bird of Prey centre, microbrewery and two abbey ruins. There is also an award winning spa. The stately home of Duncombe Park is just a short walk away, as is the open air swimming pool which is a popular attraction in the summer months.
