This hotel must have recently been renovated because everything was so new and clean and great! Huge room and stunning bathroom and we were fortunate to have a room with a balcony overlooking the hotel fountains. Only thing is almost none of the staff spoke any English which made it a bit difficult when asking for anything and it’s a bit out of the way from the centre but taxis were relatively cheap which solved that problem!
Stayed here 1 night as part of a tour. It was cosy, warm and offered great room service. When you need to get something solid down you instead of sloppy Chinese food the club sandwich is a treat! Everything was clean, tidy and the toiletries were lovely, thee was even some free Chinese made condoms in the room, obviously to control their child policy's. great wifi too
Well located and recently renovated, nice size room, excellent bathroom, with small balcony, nice and clean., good feel to the hotel, new comfy beds and blankets, staff were friendly but can’t speak English. Tv only had 2 English Channels and were both news channels, bit annoying when you want to relax.
The hotel itself is nice although a little old fashioned, our room was nice although the carpet looked dirty but then when I looked further there was loads of black hair all over the carpet which obviously hadn’t been hoovered that day and there was loads I scraped it into a,pile with my foot in the hope that housekeeping would see it and do something about it! Wonder if that’s why they supply you with slippers ☹️ The breakfast at the hotel was excellent.
I arrived at this hotel late one Friday evening. I’d spent the day working in Shanghai and I was booked on a tour the following day. On the whole I thought the hotel was OK. In my opinion it’s a 3 star hotel but in its day it would probably have been a 4 or 5 star; it feels a bit tired now. I arrived late and the reception staff checked me in straight away. It was gone midnight but there were a lot of people congregated on the various chairs in reception making lots of noise. Perhaps I was overly tired from my delayed flight and long day but this didn’t create a great impression. My room was of a good standard. Like the reception, it was a bit tired but, on the whole, OK. I went straight to sleep and left immediately the following morning because I had a tour to catch. That means I can’t comment on the breakfast or dinners or the quality of any other facilities at the hotel. I’d stay at the hotel again and for the price I paid it was a bit of a bargain.
This hotel is old and the rooms are not very nice. It is not horrible but I spoke with someone that said they did not pay much more for the Wyndham and was a lot nicer. It was very hard to catch a cab for dinner . On a positive note the staff was very nice and helpful
We only stayed here one night, which was a pity as the grounds and swimming pool looked amazing. The room was clean and tidy, with comfortable beds. There were very nice complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. We were going to see the Terracotta Army, then flying to Beijing and the hotel arranged for our bags to be transported to the airport, and the next time we would see them would be to collect them in Beijing airport, such a good service
We stopped at this hotel on a organised China tour and I could recommend it. Very smart and swish, the whole hotel is wrapped around a koi carp pool. I don't know how much the rooms are per night but they are very comfortable, well equipped and have everything you need from a hotel room. The hotel is in the new town but not far from the old city walls so you could walk it. The breakfasts are multi national and there is a bar and a small swimming pool. Overall an excellent choice.
Stayed in mid range room overlooking central pool area. Quiet and comfortable room. Large comfortable bed. Clean bathroom. Good shower. Separate smoking and non-smoking floors. Staff helpful and largely English speaking.
