Good service is often hard to find in China, but here my encounters with all the staff (reception, room service, concierge) were very positive. Even though their level of English isn’t that great (which is to be expected in the province), they went all out of their way to accommodate me and make my stay pleasant. The rooms was spacious and clean as well. So next trip to Wuhan I will definitely come back here.
My boss and i like your hotel very much as you have such nice staffs there. All of your staff offer excellent service and know our preference every time. Thank you for your caring and happy new year to all of you.
Typical Shangri-La with personal service that shows care and thought. Engaging staff in an old looked after property. Top marks to front desk staff. Kitty is everywhere and so good with service to customer. Food is the best western in the city. Cannot beat it for foreign travelers.
Good location, property is well kept, clean and close to parks and shopping. Good business hotel, and personal travel. Has an excellent health club one of the few hotels that still offer in room massages. Staff speaks english and is always willing help and find whatever you are looking for...taxis are always in que so no waiting. Rooms are very nice and well equiped and clean. Easy choice in Wuhan, the city itself has a tremendous pollution problem worse that Beijing in my opinion, this hotel was a haven from all the traffic and poor air quality in Wuhan...
We enjoyed our stay here for a business trip. It's not the newest of hotels but it is clean and comfortable and the staff are nice. They have a very generous breakfast buffet and the fitness centre is very well equipped.
Absolutely waste of money. Staff incompetent and attitude is of pleasing, with no aptitude. It’s like south china 20 years ago. They need to pay more and get competent staff. As regular guests of Shang around the world, it’s a insult to the brand.
I hadn't realized this hotel was 18 years old when the booking was made. It certainly didn't look it's age. The lobby, hallways, and rooms were still as clean as ever even if the styling is a bit nostalgic. The room was fantastic. I stayed in the Yangtze Suite for a night and was pleasantly surprised its old world charm of floral carpets, vases, and wallpaper. There is also a welcome plate of fruits to select from. Service is friendly and very helpful. Staff really try to help - my colleague had to switch rooms twice due to dissatisfaction with the smell of the room. But eventually found a room that worked. A minor inconvenience is that the check-in lobby was on the 20th floor like some of the older hotels in town. And it is strange that their is no photocopier on that level, so they take your passport to another floor and bring it back to you in your room.
For my first time in Wuhan, I very much enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Any of the staff I dealt with were very nice, pleasant, professional, and helpful. The hotel is very clean, it's bright, and there's a great food selection in the main restaurant. My room was very clean, and the bed was more comfortable than my own bed at home. There's a subway stop close by, and there's easy access to taxis. I will definitely stay at this hotel again.
The Wuhan Shangri-La is like a fine bottle of Cabernet, it just keeps getting better with age! I was here shortly after its opening, and am here at its 18 birthday. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Wuhan, even though there are new hotels popping up everywhere. I have a corner room, very spacious. My room is equipped with an air purifier and humidifier.I wish I had a bed and bedding like they provide me. So clean and comfortable! Housekeeping (especially Laney) does a spectacular job! My special place is the Horizon Club, I consider it my office! Computers, color printer, scanners, everything you need. And the people are what makes it truly great! Ashley, Mandy, Sukey, Tommy, Tony....I've missed a couple. The gym and pool are spotless. The front office people and service center always take care of my requests, from flowers to arranging vehicles. Of course they are all led by Kitty the front office manager. Try the Shangri-La on your next wuhan trip. you will be very pleased!
While the room was smaller it was efficient and looked well maintained with modern touch. Was on an upper floor with exec access to concierge lounge and was quiet at night. The morning breakfast buffet was standard Chinese with some European choices and the fall back hard boiled eggs
