Shangri-La Hotel, Wuhan5.0 out of 5.0

This is my first free and easy visit to Wuhan with my wife . From previous reviews , I know that this hotel is more than 18 years old and a bit run down . However , on arrival , I do not feel any difference from all the other Shangrila hotels that I have visited . The common areas as well as my standard room is nicely furnished . The food in Shang Palace is good and the price is reasonable . Furthermore they give 50%discount all the restaurants . I wish to compliment their staff for being very kind and helpful especially those guys at the concierge . They go all the way to search through the Internet to help me to locate all the places that I wish to visit . They offered me free map and wrote down precise instructions so that I would not lost my way . The staff inShang Palace were attentive and efficient . If I visit Wuhan in future I would definitely book Shangrila again .
I have bee stay here for one night, the location of the hotel is brilliant to access subway and restaurants easily. I got a nice room in 19th floor which get the access to executive lounge. Every staff in the hotel is lovely and helpful, particularly the doorman impressed me a lot at my arrival. I totally enjoyed my stay in Shangri-La Wuhan, it was terrific.
Rooms are comfortable. Bathroom with shower and tube and everything you need. Hotel has got also fitness and pool but I haven't tried them yet, the facilities looks a bit old. Everything clean and cosy. Restaurant and lobby lounge downstairs. Reception staff and concierge are very helpful. I did like it and I recommend.
Amazing, efficient and welcoming service as always. Room is not as spacious as other new building hotel however it's quite cozy and tidy. The hotel location is convenient to go anywhere, there is a subway station only 3mins walking distance.
PPPerfect spot for walking around and staffs are very accommodating for any questions you may have, particularly Louis Xia, he is terrific.more than help to answer my question.ideal hotel for a wonderful stay
The staff is very nice. Our room was dated and had not been used in a while based on how stuffy it was. But once the window was opened and AC turned on it freshened up. Restaurant and bar service is very good and the spa is very reasonable.
Close to the metro station--hongkong road station. Shangri-La is always one of the best 5 stars hotel in a city. The service and the food is perfect, the style is classic. There is a small beautiful garden in the hotel, just outside of the lobby lounge.
The Shangri-La has a great location with the opening of 2 and soon to be a 3rd subway line less than 100 meters away. Taxi to/from airport is now only about 30 minutes since the new expressway was completed. So, location and transportation are not what make the Shangri-La great. It is the people, from the doorman to the GM and everyone in between. You will be assisted with all your needs, there are many bi-multi lingual people to help you.
Hotel is abit old, but Room is comfortable and spacious. Staff are helpful and friendly. Only there for a night, love the Japanese breakfast for room service. Love toiletries. But Smoking in the lobby is a major turnoff.
Stayed at the Shangri-La Wuhan for a couple of nights on a business trip. Decided to upgrade to the Horizon Club to take advantage of the lounge since the flight arrived in the afternoon. The Shangri-La Wuhan is an older property but as befitting the chain, everything was kept in excellent condition with ever helpful and friendly staff. Rooms were comfortable and very decent size. Looks like some refurbishment had been done as the room I had included power outlets with USB options. Definitely a plus these days. Wifi, is free and available throughout the property. The gym is in the basement, not my favorite location as it means one cannot look outside. But equipment were in decent shape and really nothing to complain about. I had breakfast at the lounge and not the main cafe. Less variety but not of lower quality but definitely in a quieter setting. The evening cocktails came with enough food to allow one to skip dinner if so desired. There is a subway entrance across the street and easily brings you to the various shopping pedestrian streets around the city. To sum up, despite the apparent age and basement gym, the property has been maintained well and lives up to The Shangri-La name.
