Horrible smelling room

The room had an odor of a heavy smoker covered by way too much air freshener making it horrible to sleep there. We kept the window open all night with the fan running just to be able to breathe a bit. It’s obvious people are smoking there. Air freshener is not the answer. It needs a deep clean and repainting

We were located on first floor and we were constantly woken up by the room above, we could hear every step and what seemed to be running and doors slamming until about 3-4am. Front desk was notified and they did attempt to call the other room but the noise never stopped. Ultimately our request to change rooms was denied at any point during our stay. The overall hotel was not bad for the rate, rooms were pleasant and clean. Our neighbors also complained about the noises all night. Not sure if it’s the hotel infrastructure or the guests above but we ended up purchasing earplugs for the remainder. Location is good.

Needs a good cleaning.

Its not every hotel that I feel the need to lift the mattresses to check for bed bugs but this one I did. The room smelled clean but was not very clean. There were a couple places where something has been splattered on the walls, things were dusty and we found a gum drop and two fake nails on the carpet. The thermastat was definetly off as we had it set to 64 and could have gone lower because we were still warm (I like to keep my house at 70-72). The staff was friendly though and although the parking lot didnt appear to be plowed the whole weekend, they did shovel a path by our car and I think blew the snow off which I thought was sweet.

The only non-positive thing was continental breakfast, the food tasted like plastic, the eggs, sausages, etc not good at all. Other than that it was an awesome stay
