The beds were like rocks, some of the staff was pleasant, but the front desk staff were rude and hurried, and we were the only people who were checking in.
The hotel was undergoing renovations, so maybe that was the problem, but it seemed it was just one thing after another... It's nice enough, and our room was mostly comfortable. However, the wifi wouldn't work. The front desk staff said the IT guy had been out that day and the wifi was working. After I refuted that and assured them that it was not, they said there was nothing they could do. Doesn't seem like a big deal except that I was traveling from the USA, so wifi was the only way I had to check in with things back home, so I was totally cutoff for the duration of our stay. Next, we went to the bar to get dinner. The bartender told us it would be a bit of a wait as several people had come down to get dinner at the same time. We decided to go ahead and stay as we thought it would take longer to find somewhere else to go and to get there than it would be to wait. It was over an hour from the time we ordered until we got our food. The next morning, as we (two 20-something women) were trying to get showered and ready and get down to the lake for a cruise, the outlets in our room stopped working. Someone from the reception desk came down to make sure I knew how to work an electrical outlet, then we were told that they'd send the handyman down to check it out. After about 20 minutes I called again and was told he didn't come in until noon. Check out was 11am, our lake cruise left at 11:10am. After I objected, they agreed to send someone right away. He flipped a fuse and got the outlets working and we were able to finish getting ready and out the door and made it just in time for the lake cruise. Overall, the hotel is cute, and just minutes from lake cruises, but I was not impressed by the rest. Maybe it'll be better once they've finished renovations.
