Love Embarc’s Whistler lodge! 1 bedroom with full kitchen, fireplace is so comfortable and a lovely space. Staff is very friendly with lots of helpful advice. Village is within walking distance and so many restaurants to choose from. Will definitely be back! Of course the surroundings are breathtaking.
Love staying here the property is in a great location to the slopes, very close in walking distance. Ski lockers are conveniently located. I like the lodge style appearance for ski trips vs. a formal resort. The staff are great. Gary the concierge is polite, friendly and helpful. Lydia, front desk staff, is always going out of her way to make sure everything is good. Kids love the pool slide and so do I.
Wife and I planned a nice 4 day getaway end of September at Club Interwest lodging. Stand 1 Bdrm room with full kitchen and family room with outdoor deck and hotel spa were very reasonable. As Diamond Resort members we really enjoy the nightlife, dining, and live music. We recommend staying in the lower village with hotel parking at reduced rates. Most parking is $5-10 parking per day or evening. Lots of shopping and village areas. This area rocks at night-time with a younger more upbeat millennial crowd. The exchange rate is $1.32 Can/USA $1.00 Find your stay in the lower village close to dining, nighttime, and lots of drinking holes.
Comfy and nicely appointed. Can’t get enough of the rustic, country vibes ! Great stay with large group in two 2-bedrooms ! Will be back next year and will bring more friends and family. Thanks to the friendly staff !
We stayed a week in this resort, located in the "Upper Village" part of Whistler, walking distance from the main village. It is on the same block with the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, which turns out to be a real plus due to the Fairmont's Portobello restaurant, just steps from our front door. That restaurant is fantastic and we ate there (and used their wi-fi) frequently during the week. The EMBARC facility is well-run and clean, although our studio room was fairly small. We did have a refrigerator and microwave, helpful for meals in the room and saving some money.
Beautiful rustic villa in the heart of the North Whistler Village. Lots of great restaurants, gondola to the peaks, shops and ski slopes. Lots of scenic adventures nearby. Wonderful vacation for everyone!
If you can not have a good night's sleep, the whole holiday is shot. We found the beds at Embarc to be very uncomfortable. The mattresses are futon like - no coils or springs (or box spring) and there were body imprints in the mattress before we even lay on them. Apparently they changed all the beds a few years ago and had no new or extra mattress to switch with. It took 2 days to get some plywood to place underneath. I actually slept one night on the kitchen table! I had to miss 5 days of the 11 day holiday in order to go home to see my physiotherapist for back therapy. The whole place is in need of an upgrade. I slept on the table, because the carpet did not appear clean. The blinds did not open properly nor did the screen door. Furniture was saggy and shabby. Location is good and staff were nice - tho ineffective.
My husband and I got an incredible deal on our trip to Embarc Whistler through Interval International. We fell in love with Whistler at first sight. The majesty of the natural beauty, the intensity of the colors, and the scale of mountains made it one of the most glorious places I’ve ever been. The Embarc Whistler is truly delightful! The grounds are impeccably groomed. The buildings were expertly maintained. I have read many reviews on the resort and feel as if it gets a “bad rap” on a couple of accounts. Many reviews mentioned that the decor was dated, but my husband made a really insightful observation: if the resort were simply to redesign its internal signage and to update some of its artwork, it would make make everything much fresher. Other reviewers have mentioned that the resort is a considerable walk from the main village. However, the Upper Village is literally on the other side of the resort’s driveway. The Upper Village is a lovely, tranquil setting - at least during the summer, when we were there. We enjoyed coming back to the calm oasis of the resort after a long day of trekking. Plus, you share the driveway with the super lux Fairmont Chateau. Embarc Whistler has all the beauty of this gorgeous “neighborhood” at a fraction of the price of the Fairmont. The resort is right across the street from the access point to some lovely hikes. We did have a studio that was quite small, but we loved it nonetheless because it was all about location, location, location! It is prime real estate. I’d rather have a small place at Embarc Whistler than a two bedroom at another, less charming resort. We loved the resort so much we have booked two weeks in a one bedroom this coming summer!
My wife and I enjoyed exploring Whistler with so many great summer activities. We golfed, hiked both in Whistler Valley and alpine meadows on Whistler and Blackcomb mountain using the Gondolas and Ziplined across Fitzsimmons Creek. We knew we had a mini kitchen in our studio but were surprised to very inadequate lighting in the room, a lamp and 2 reading lights, no overhead or direct lighting of the main food preparation and microwave areas. Making this worse was blinds that would not open completely to let in light but also did not close completely to block morning light. This was reported with no correction. We also had a bad experience with their timeshare presentation, initially the 2 reps we spoke with were friendly and informative but the "closer" was hard sell, even attempting to shame us into buying. Not going back to Embarc!
We go every year and we love staying on the Blackcomb side. Short walk to the bottom of the slopes and the new gondola from the Blackcomb base makes everything even more accessible! Preferred the service when the lodge was still owned by Club Intrawest, but we will still return.
