We had a nice stay here. Loved Westport. Easy to walk downtown from the location. Many great options for restaurants and pubs. Room was too hot with no way to control the heat, but were able open the windows to make it comfortable.

Lovely, comfortable lodge. Offering daily change of towels, soaps and housekeeping. Instant-coffee, tea and biscuits along with a kettle were provided in the room. This lodge was not in a convenient location if you wanted an easy walk to shops and restaurants/ pubs. After hiking all day, we were a bit weary to walk the 15-20 min into town and back for an evening meal. Breakfast is not provided so one would have to walk or drive into town. There were no facilities to make your own. A 15-20 min walk would normally not be an issue for us but our time was short.

Good reviews and rating are misleading.

This room was grossly overpriced and the previous good reviews were extremely misleading. There was no breakfast which we were informed about by email once we had already confirmed and paid. The key was in a key safe so we never met the supposedly wonderful and helpful hosts. The room was clean and the beds not uncomfortable but the shower was terrible. A tiny cubicle (approximately 70 cm square internally) and very difficult to control the water temperature. Noticed too late that the rave reviews were all from 2023 or earlier. No reviews at all in 2024! These old reviews should be removed from the website as they do not apply to what is currently on offer.

We reserved a room and we were emailed the room # and code to get in front door. When we arrived at 8pm the room was given away even though we had a reservation and had paid and a room code etc. then they found us a different room upstairs that was difficult to lock. The room was fine but quite noisy and small. No breakfast. We were there two nights.

Enjoyed the location very much, easy 15 minute walk into Westport. Our room was clean and stocked with coffee and tea. Patrice provided us some excellent dining suggestions. Our only issue is the plumbing in the bathroom. The toilet was tricky, the hot and cold taps on the sink were reversed and the shower was slow draining. Having said that we would stay again with the understanding that we did not book a 4 star B&B, nor did we pay the price for one. Overall good value for the money.

The Woodside was a very quiet, peaceful place to spend our night in Westport. The owners were very friendly and affected suggestions for the area. The rooms were clean and well appointed, although there was a crack in the bathtub that was a bit disconcerting. The breakfast was top notch and checkout was a breeze. I would definitely recommend this site for a relaxing getaway in Westport.

My hosts were friendly; kept a clean and comfortable guesthouse; served a good, sustaining breakfast. My room had a good bed and satisfying shower. They were flexible with breakfast time to meet the needs of my tour driver. Having no evening transportation other than my feet, I found it to be a bit far out of town, but it is a straight shot from the main business area and ultimately walkable. I would recommend this guesthouse.

Westport stay

Enjoyable stay here, with fabulous breakfasts each day. Cosy breakfast room, allowing everyone to chat to one another with ease. Westport is a fun town to stay / visit. Plenty of shops alongside pubs and bars with great atmospheres.

Helen and Patrice are lovely hosts. So many wonderful choices at breakfast. We haven’t seen a breakfast menu like this anywhere else. Please don’t miss out on Helen’s delicious scones and Patrice’s omelettes.

We stayed at this lovely bed and breakfast and everything was very good. From the moment we arrived there was a friendly welcome and the breakfasts were fantastic with plenty of choice. Home made scones were on offer every morning!
