Stayed for one night only but would have liked to have stayed for a week. Excellent Club Level Rooms. Excellent Club Room. Excellent service from all staff we came into contact with and would and will return. Great value for quality and service we received even overseas.
We stayed in this hotel as part of my wife's birthday celebrations. This hotel was difficult to fault. We stayed in a Business Class section having paid a bit more for the privilege. We arrived in time for Happy Hour in the lounge. The staff in the lounge were simply fantastic and it was fun to meet up with them for breakfast the next day. The stand out feature at the Intercontinental were the bed and the pillows - wow, what a joy! One would need to experience the bed and pillows to understand just how good the were. Loved every thing about this hotel; no wonder Tourism is now NZ's biggest earner.
Just spent 2 nights in club king room. Immaculate....best hotel in Wellington. Rooms spacious....beds super comfy... Furnishings lovely... Club lounge is superb and thank you to The amazing staff that look after you... We dined with friends in the restaurant And food, service and wine was perfect. Thank you to all the staff that make the Hotel awesome.
I book the Intercontinental for others weekly and had never stayed myself - well I am so pleased I got the chance to stay. From the moment I walked through the door, reception were very welcoming and quick to process. Next thing I head up to my room and my bag is already happily sitting on my bed! Bathroom products smell gorgeous. Spotless room and spacious. Bed is soooo comfy. I ordered room service, it was delicious and arrived within 20 mins. Heaps of tv channels. Just a really enjoyable stay!
We booked a club room for our wedding anniversary. I mentioned this at reservation time. From the time we walked in we were treated extremely well by every staff member we came in contact with. The club lounge is great value. Thank you for a great weekend.
I stayed recently for just one night with my family. We had interconnecting rooms, which worked very well. The rooms were well equipped and spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel has a well equipped gym, business centre, pool and restaurant (though I didn't get to use the pool or restaurant). The hotel was essentially as you would expect from a city based Intercon. The reason that I have given a 5 star rating (ie over and above what you would expect) comes mainly down to the super helpful staff, however, who went well beyond what you would normally find and, in fact, well beyond what you would reasonably expect. Someone even used their personal computer for me to download some software which was blocked in the business centre - totally unexpected, but made my life a lot easier! And the chauffeur for the hotel car to the airport (a Bentley - well worth a splurge) was a great chap too. All in all, just really friendly and helpful people trying to make your stay better - which makes all the difference in my view.
From the minute we arrived the service could not have been better. The staff make you feel very special and that is exactly why we choose to pay that bit extra to stay there. The rooms are quiet, clean and comfortable. We had a corner room overlooking the city which was fine but I would upgrade to a harbour view next time.
I have stayed in countless hotels all over the world, but my stay at the Intercontinental Wellington blew everything else away. It has redefined my idea of what a luxury hotel should be, and I’m sure that I am forever ruined as a result! Where do I even begin? I stay here with my partner for nearly a week during a holiday in early June 2017. From my wonderful Harbour View room to the timely and immaculate housekeeping, everything was perfect. The facilities were great too, and we made good use of the pool, sauna and hot tub. Even the complimentary juices each morning with our morning wake-up call was a fantastic touch. But all that was nothing in comparison to the service. Everyone from the housekeeping team to the concierge to even staff members we just happened to pass in the corridor were incredibly friendly. I don’t know if it’s just the people in Wellington, but it truly made our first ever visit to Wellington one to remember. Of course, also making it memorable was the fact that I proposed to my partner during the trip (she said yes!). When I mentioned this to Guest Services Manager Rachit upon checking in, he went above and beyond to make the occasion truly special. At the time of my choosing, our room was decorated with rose petals on the floor and on the bed. We were offered a bottle of champagne to commemorate the occasion, but when I told them my partner didn’t drink alcohol, they went out and purchased a bottle of non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice just for us. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. The only downside was that I had to leave!
We always stay at the Intercontinental whenever we are in Wellington and we have never had an imperfect experience. The accommodation and service continues to be of an extremely high standard. If you can afford it, it's definitely worth upgrading to a club room to gain access to the club lounge, not only for the private attentive service and quality menu but also for the great view across the harbour.
I was in Wellington NZ over the weekend and as usual stayed at the Intercontinental, this hotel is outstanding across all areas, modern, great staff, good restaurant and bar, the rooms are very modern and comfortable, I cant recommend this hotel enough if you want a great place to stay at a reasonable rate
