This was a very strange experience! In three days, I only saw one or two guests the entire time. The lobby, the hallways, the dining area, the pool--- all were empty. Though this was a mid-week stay in July, it was still a little odd. Even stranger still was the pool area, which was very dirty and part of a cordoned-off construction site, as the hotel works to revamp a former indoor water park into an event center. The excessive use of single-use plastics in the restaurant made me heartsick.

Good: There wasn't an event going on, so getting good parking was easy, lobby was practically empty. It was super quiet, though others stay may vary. Not great: Even though I booked in advance, signed up and did all the things needed prior to arriving. Their portal for contactless check-in/out didn't work the entire time I was there. So the contactless required contact for the duration of the stay. Even after physically checking in, the portal they use for contactless didn't work so I still had to do the work they're trying to avoid. Gave them a card for incidentals, and that wasn't enough for the portal to give me access again. "Verification" issues prevented me from having a simple streamlined check in/out experience. I had saved a screenshot prior of my access prior to arrival/check-in. That entry code still worked for my room, even before I physically checked in and continued to be so. Did try calling the front desk from the room because of the lack of portal access to check in, there was no answer. Either way, room was good for the price. The transition period it's in for the water park removal leaves some areas very liminal, many signs vandalized by letter removal is often hilarious. You'll be walking a hall, vestibule, room and sometimes feel floorboards shift under your feet. Based on the portal issues alone is enough for me to not book here again, I had too many concerns that I wasn't checked in or my room might change. If there were perks, didn't know about it

This place is just incredible. Grand Hotel is such a fitting name. It truly is GRAND. If you stay here, make sure you plan on some time just to enjoy the property itself. Bring a deck of cards and play in one of the many gorgeous spaces- near the fireplace, lobby, or even the amazing courtyard!!! Kids said it was the best pool and hot tub ever! Breakfast even for vegetarians was wonderful, and the room had ample sleeping space for grandparents, kids, and me (6 of us total slept comfortably)!! Don’t hesitate- this place is great, and Kai is so helpful!

Lobby was recently remodeled and is nice. Rooms are a bit dark but are big and clean. Staff was nice; kids loved the breakfast with make your own waffles. Large gym. Was a fun, unique place to go in an area where all the hotels are just cookie cutter basic. Went in the summer and it was very quiet.

My husband and I recently stayed 2 nights at Bantr, we really enjoyed our stay , the pool and hot tub where great, our room was spacious the breakfast was bountiful and delicious, the lobby was also beautiful and inviting. I recently stayed at Bantr and overall had a decent experience, though there were a few areas that could use improvement. The bed in the main room was very comfortable and made for a good night’s sleep, but unfortunately the pull-out sofa was the opposite—it was hard and uncomfortable, making it a poor option for additional guests. The room itself was clean and well-maintained, which I appreciated. However, the hallway carpets were noticeably worn and could definitely use some updating to match the rest of the space. One small but important issue was the lack of hand soap by the bathroom sink. When I asked the front desk for some, I was told the hotel had run out. It’s a basic amenity that should always be available, so that was a bit disappointing. I was brought liquid body wash as a replacement, but chose instead to purchase handsoap from a local store. Bantr has a lot of potential with its cozy atmosphere and friendly vibe, but a few details—like more comfortable extra bedding, and better attention to stocking essentials—would really make a big difference. I’d consider staying again, but I hope they address these minor but noticeable issues.

After a long day on the road I stopped here to get some sleep. The king bed was so comfortable that I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow and I slept all night.
