Comfortable, decent size, and clean rooms but despite being in the back of the hotel (away from the road) our little girl still struggled to get to sleep due to the road noise Friendly and attentive staff, though, who we felt confident would have done whatever we asked of them if we found something that could be fixed, but our only concern would have required closing the m40! Would use again if I needed a stopover without the kids
Rooms are comfortable and clean with plenty of tea and coffee. Beds are comfortable enough for one night. You can hear the road but it's far enough away not to be a bother. The rooms are equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Nice pleasant hotel. Great value for a stopover while traveling. Clean modern room with kettle, tea, coffee, and biscuits which was nice. Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable bed and pillows. There is a food services a few yards away which contains Waitrose, Subway, Burger King, KFC, Harry Ramsdens, etc. Overall a good stay at a great price.
I stayed at this hotel for one night during a flying visit to the UK to visit family. We arrived jet lagged and tired, and Linda on Reception was super helpful and friendly. Here is my usual, balanced review and top tip for future travellers. Here’s what we liked: After a long journey from the US and a drive from Heathrow we were keen to check in and take a shower. Linda enabled us to check in at 1.30pm instead of 2pm, and said we could have checked in earlier if we had called in advance. Those 30 minutes were much appreciated. Linda kindly gave us a room at the back of the hotel and it was wonderfully quiet. The room was a good size and had everything for a short stay. There was a double bed and a separate single bed, a small TV, tea/coffee making facilities, a small wardrobe and a very powerful, hot shower. It was easy to connect to the WiFi and the connection was reliable. Here’s what we didn’t like: It was a relatively warm, early summer day but our room was very cold when we entered it. The only way of heating it was a small, wall-mounted heater. We turned it on and managed to get the room warm, but that would be very difficult in the middle of winter. My top tip for future travellers: Call ahead if you want to check in early and know that you need to go to the service station next door for your meals. The hotel offers a breakfast of cereals and a croissant, but if you want something more substantial you will need to go next door. There is a Starbucks in the car park and Harry Ramsdens does a great English breakfast. Overall for the price this was good value for money, but one night was enough and that is what it is designed for. We would stay again if we were passing through.
Got dumped here by my firm whilst working in Leamington spa. It's right on the motorway by the service station. Rooms are a decent size beds are ok, shower worked fine ok for a night or 2 but nothing else. No lifts but only a 2 storey building. Nothing to do, you can walk to the service station but food is limited to burger king, kfc, Harry ramsdens and tossed a salad bar, but be warned though you will pay well over the top for anything you buy. Best bet is to eat before you check in and bring any snacks etc with you. Apart from that, it could do with a lick of paint but it's ok to rest if you're a tired traveller
My son and I stayed here to be near the castle for a full days visit. The room had everything we needed, was clean and very comfortable. Great nights sleep. Bathroom was fine, brilliant shower. We did have a breakfast voucher in with our stay and enjoyed the breakfast. The best thing by far were the staff, kind and helpful. Would 100% stay again.
The room we stayed in was number 3, which faced the carpark. Parking was aplenty and first impressions of the hotel were ruined by the exposed and paint peeling sophet boards below the roof, a sign of things to come? Entry to the check-in indicates the door is locked for security, but this was never the case despite returning to the hotel after 11pm, perhaps a remnant of the hotel in previous years? Check-in was a breeze, with friendly staff and a complementary newspaper (i-news). Initial impressions of the room (number 3, twin with a single and double bed) was underwhelming but this was expected given the price (low 30s gbp). The bedding was clean but the mattress was in poor condition, with springs pressing against my body. However, surprisingly I got an excellent nights sleep. Further inspection of the mattress determined it was a Hypnos which is a superior brand however it was from 2004. Perhaps with 15 years of servitude this mattress should be retired, especially given the numerous stains. The room was spacious with ample storage, individual lights next to the beds and again, surprisingly a good sized toilet. It contained a large shower (perhaps 1.5m long), a huge mirror and a toilet pan which offered enough space to sit comfortably. However, again, it was tired looking and not clean enough. Black gunk was under the tap fixtures, rust had formed around the shower fittings, a tile was lifted away from the shower pan, a prime location for mould to grow ( I didn't check). The grouting was also in need of a solid scrub and the sealants replaced as they were heavily discoloured. Finally, the shower pan had the remnants of a built in anti-slip material which was completely worn, discoloured and gave the impression of the backing of a ripped sticker. Within the main room, the carpets were brown and old, dragging down the appearance of the room. The poorly painted purple wall, completed without removing the radiator and the dated paintings further added to the 'tired' look of this room. The TV was fine but was a cheap Samsung and its standard to have a flat screen telly in the UK, so it isn't much of a selling point. These TVs produce such a tinny sound that it's difficult to have the volume at a comfortable level without risking bothering your neighbour. Further adding to the tired look was the window, which clearly over its lifetime has been drilled into for cables to pass through etc leading to unplugged holes, bringing in a draft and unwelcomed noise from the M40. The window didn't have a good seal, so noise reduction between an open and closed window was not significant. Overall, the room gave the impression of it once being an executive or premium room due to the large space and bathroom provided but maintenance and cleaning has reduced this to a 'normal' or budget room. However, for £30ish/n and quick access to the sites of Warwickshire perhaps I am expecting too much?
Positive: - clean and cosy room - Samsung TV with smart functions/ i could play movies from my portable hard drive - i had a room with the bath and strong shower/easy to operate both - manageable heating/powerful enough to heat the room quite quickly! - quiet fun in my bathroom/I didn´t hear fun from other rooms - quiet place to spend night - waitrose shop and starbucks coffee near the hotel - friendly and helpful staff at the reception - easy to find/lots of parking/free/ Negative: · - can´t recall anything
Good shower and the usual facilities for a motorway Inn. Clean. What else can I say. I arrived at 2230 and left at 0530. I still have 80 characters to go no idea what the breakfast was like. That's 200
1) programmed to get us to Warwick SOUTH, the car's GPS kept taking us to Warwick NORTH... it had them backwards... station attendant told us a lot of people suffered similarly... 2) during check-in the receptionist suggested i "take advantage" of what she called a "REALLY GOOD DEAL" to buy-in-advance a pair of breakfast vouchers for use at the restaurant next door... 7.90 gbp each... well, imagine my surprise, when we went for breakfast and the menu indicated the usual (as in regular, aka NON-special) price of that breakfast is 6.89 gbp... i know, 1 pound, big deal right ? but then again, TOTAL RIPOFF... room itself was exactly as expected for the money and convenience of location
