No Regrets!

We had an amazing time at this property! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The house was clean, well-equipped, and beautifully decorated, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The location was perfect – close to the Ark exhibit. We would definitely book again.

Beautifully remodeled historic home with charming farmhouse vibe, super clean, safe location, all appliances in working order, and hosts thought of EVERYTHING! We enjoyed our stay immensely; the property exceeded our expectations. We would definitely stay here again.

Fall Get-away

The host was great to work with. Everything explained in the listing was accurate. The home was very clean and contained all the needed appliances. we especially enjoyed the newly remodeled home but also the period trim that was kept by the owners to give this home a special nostalgic feeling. Next time we are up that way we will book with them again.

Beautiful Home

What a blessing to find this beautiful little home, perfectly situated between the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum, which was the purpose for our visit! May be somewhat small in square footage, but every single space was so smartly put to use. There were six adults in our party and we never felt cramped. And to say, the owners have thought of everything, is an understatement! Whatever you need for your stay… Rest assured it will be there! We had an issue the last night of our stay, and the owners were their lickity split to rectify the problem. Very friendly and courteous! You won’t regret choosing this little gem!

The property was by far the best VRBO that we ever stayed at. It was clean, crisply decorated, the linens were clean and comfortable. The kitchen had every small appliance we could have wanted. 2 slow cookers, a stand mixer, a griddle, just to mention a few. Very good

Great house; just enough space for a family of five. It looks like it was recently renovated and converted into a short-term rental. Good location; as advertised (close to the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum). It is right on Main St. in Walton, which is a one-lane road in each direction, so some traffic noise as expected. One issue is that the A/C system is very noisy, especially in the kitchen where the main filter is located. The window A/C units are noisy as well and the need for them indicates the central air is not sufficient to reach the rooms in the upper floor. But other than that, our experience was very good and we would stay there again.

This property has been well thought out by the owner. Every detail has been covered and you will not lack for anything here. The location was perfectly situated for us to visit both the Ark and the Creation Museum. Very clean and feels very new. The train noise was NOT an issue at all.

Nice Short Visit

We rented this home for a weekend getaway for an event at River Bend in Cincy. The home is as advertised. Kitchen is well appointed and suitable for anyone who needed to cook for a large group. Home is nicely furnished. Beds were comfortable. The added individual portable a/c units were much welcomed due to extreme heat during our stay. Parking is in the back of the home which made it convenient for unloading/loading. There was someone staying in the space over the detached 2 car garage however, it posed no problem for us. The trains do blow their horns at night due to the crossing nearby. We noticed it several times the first night but the second night we didn't notice it all. The street in front of the house is busy. The front yard is large so if you have littles that are playing out front, be sure to keep an eye on them. There is a large green space in the back they could play. Overall, highly recommend the property and would stay again if ever in the area.

Ark in Love

The home was very clean, nicely decorated and the kitchen well-appointed. There were somethings I’d suggest for improvement: 1.) The description should really indicate that one bathroom is downstairs. For people with limited mobility issues, it’s something that would be good to know when choosing the property. 2.) Named “The Gathering Place,” it would’ve been nice to have somewhere inside to actually gather. We enjoy family movie night and would’ve liked a comfortable sofa to do that. The living room in this home is more a showpiece and not a place to hang out and relax. 3.) The stairs are very narrow, which cannot be changed, but I would recommend putting down something to help with traction. 4.) The water was very hot, but the water pressure was very low. The upstairs shower hot and cold options are incorrectly appointed. 5.) The bedrooms are very hot, we were grateful for the portable AC units, although very loud. However the third bedroom that the children slept in was extremely hot and only had a floor fan. 6.) There’s a large picture window up the stairs that overlooks a very disheveled property next door. At night, the neighbors could see right into the bedroom level. I would recommend a frosted covering for privacy and safety. 5.) The stools in the kitchen were very uncomfortable and could only be sat in for a very short amount of time. 6.) None of the bedroom doors locked. 7.) I did not see a fire extinguisher.

Quick trip

We travelled to the area to go to the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum. So this place was right in between both sites. It’s an older house that’s been beautifully remodeled, with all the modern conveniences we come to expect! Everything was truly lovely! The location was great. The decor was beautiful. The management was very responsive and had all information we felt like we needed to know, detailed and easily accessible. Parking was in the back out of view of passers by. The bedrooms were nice and comfortable. Being an older house with the bedrooms upstairs, they had extra portable AC units upstairs which were a nice help since it was super hot while we were there. Everything was really nice. We definitely would recommend this property to others.

Absolutely perfect stay!

The house is gorgeous and gave us an immediate feeling of "home away from home". It was SO clean and stocked with everything you could possibly need, including kitchen appliances (waffle iron, slow cooker, and griddle, etc.), linens, plenty of pillows, and even incredibly thoughtful things like games for the kids, laundry supplies, shower soaps and shampoos, and a high chair (which we didn't need for our kids, but it just shows the level of thought the owners put into your stay). There is even a backyard grill in the privacy fenced in area that is perfect for a nice outdoor evening. We visited the ark and creation museum and this house was perfectly situated in between with just a short drive to either one. There are many really delicious options for food nearby, and a Kroger store (think nicer Walmart) about 4 mins down the road for anything you could possibly need to buy. Thank you for making this visit the very best VRBO stay we have ever had!!! We will definitely be back! God bless!

Lovingly modernized without losing Charm

At first glance it looks modern and updated with all the amenities people in 2024 are looking for, but there are details that harken back to a time when homes had artistic details like decorative heavy wooden doors and bronze doorknobs. Very clean and nicely decorated. Very nice experience and the perfect place to stay to visit Ark Encounter and Creation museum.

Home away from home!

Enjoyed a short vacation stay in Walton with friends. The house is conveniently located to all major attractions that we came to see…. The Ark Encounter, The Creation Museum, Big Bone Lick State Park, The Cincinnati Zoo and others! The house is beautifully decorated and well supplied with all the things necessary for an enjoyable stay. There is a great Family home style restaurant nearby that served the most amazing omelets, a great bakery and also an ice cream shop within walking distance. A Kroger is also conveniently located nearby! We can’t say enough good things about The Gathering Place!! 😊

Fantastic stay

Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. 4 women attended a women's retreat at "The Ark". The location was perfect and we can't say enough about the home. It was perfectly named the gathering house. The decorations were perfect. Truly impressed with all the kitchen appliances and extras. I love how God is prevalent in the decor. The home was so relaxing and inviting. The bed was very comfortable. Thanks so very much. I will definitely check availability when I'm in the area again. Would love to stay again.
