I stayed at many hotels in Virginia Beach over the years, this place is absolutely the worst. The water pressure at the shower head is so low that there's just barely some water coming out. Very annoying. There's no rinse hose outside like other places to wash off sand so you can guess the hallway and elevators are always wet and dirty. Breakfast is also terrible. Just dry pieces of bread wrapped in plastic bags, some bagels and muffins. No hot food. Sometimes they would have yogurt, most of the time they don't. No orange, just some mandarins. Very simple and cheap breakfast. This hotel is also not childsafe. Every night, the tobacco smoke from the bar below flies up to the air, I could smell it very strongly from my 6th floor. The noisy music from the very same bar is unbearable even after midnight. I really have no idea why this place is called "resort" by all means. My experience here is absolutely worse than the Schooner "Inn" at the end of the Board Walk where I happened to stay last month. Do your self a favor by avoiding this Sandcastle "resort".
Very disappointed, this is Not a Resort it’s more like a one star hotel - not worth it the price tag. Stayed 2 nights. Woke up in the AM water all over the floor. The fridge was leaking we called it was replaced and floor wiped. Not cleaned. The shower/bathtub drain was clogged and hair everywhere. One of the beds was broken mattress was very old. The Continental breakfast was a joke. No food only coffee, juice (tasted horrible) bagels and granola bars. I don’t recommend this location. Very misleading, not a resort and not a continental breakfast.
Location is great but cleaniness is not quite up to par. Also, included continental breakfast is very crappy.
The car port area was congested and backed when we arrived. My husband had to circle the block while I checked in. Carts were all in use. I appreciated that they let everyone check in before the official time. Good location from gift shops and restaurants. Ocean view room was good but big wardrobe closet occupied too much space and didn’t have room inside it for a suitcase. Floor lamp base was dirty and gross. At 11pm the sink sprang a leak so we turned that valve off and only used the cold water.
Small rooms, old furniture, not warm comforter, but good mattresses...
First time at this hotel and certainly won’t be my last. We got the third floor ocean front view. It was incredible. .

Our experience with best western was not the best. Room was extremely small. I booked two queen beds but i was given 2 full size beds. I questioned and they still said they were queen. There was just enough room for my husband and I in the bed, it was definitely a full. Ice machines did not work on any floor. I called and asked, they said they'd have maintenance come fix them and they were never fixed the the 5 days we were there. Pool was not nice. It's only 4,5, and 6 ft. Very small. Patio was so small, 2 people barely fit on it. Found floss and magazines left on top of cabinet, so it wasn't cleaned well before us. There was no hair dryer. Refrigerator froze our drinks and food. The lobby is about the only nice feature of this hotel. The breakfast was also nice and worth having the free meal. Staff was nice and anytime we needed something to the room such as towels or toilet paper, it was brought very quickly. I would not book here again due to the small room and very old hotel that needs a lot of work done to the rooms, amenities, and pool. My daughter is 5, too big for the kiddy pool but was too small for the regular pool. She was quite disappointed. The hallways were extremely small also. When they were going around with their cleaning carts or guest were using a cart to bring luggage in or out, there was no room to pass in the hallway. Pictures are deceiving. We were disappointed

All good except guaranteed check in is at 4 pm. This may cause some inconvenience if arrived early.
Like the fact that the staff is very customer service friendly and professional. The view awesome. Balcony furniture was dirty had to clean and sanitize it myself. Didn't like the fact that the gym was nasty. Equipment dusty. The sanitation station bottles empty. Called the front desk waited 20 mins. No one showed up. Went to room to get my own hand wipes and santizer. Won't book again.
Right on Beach, convenient store and 2 restaurants. Couldn’t be at a better spot. Definitely would stay here again,

The first day we checked in to the property there was blaring music in the room right beside us which led to loud inappropriate noises not meant for a family environment. We complained to the front desk as this was a family vacation and our children should not be hearing the goings on next door. After complaining the room next door remained less of an issue. However, in this non-smoking hotel, every hotel level we were on reeked of marijuana which we also do not expose our children to. When we complained to the front desk their only response was to offer to move us because they couldn’t do anything since they didn’t know where the smell was coming from. The room we stayed in should have been taken out of inventory. The paint was peeling. The walls were painted different colors from all the partial repairs. The entry and exit doors were very dingy. The entire hotel was lacking in cleanliness and general care. The staff were friendly. The pool was fair - our kids didn’t really care that there was mold and scum around the windows and doors. This hotel is probably best when offered to college students who don’t care about these things. We, as a family, will not visit this hotel again.
